[Bruce has picked a good option for handing off the scarf, in the sense that Ed is, technically, a child, and struggling to stay warm in this weather. He has picked a horrible option in the sense that Edward already has five (5) scarves wrapped around him, which the companion bots have somehow made work by wrapping them around not only his neck but torso and arms. It's a genuine miracle he can still move at all.]
