"While I was recovering from the explosion," Sevika answered without much concern. There wasn't an angle here, at least when admitting she had tried the same shit that Vander had gotten high on. She needed to know the baseline and how much to push for dilution, for refining it; it wouldn't save people from that initial release, but it didn't mean she couldn't demand that gradual improvement on what Silco and that doctor of his had made. Her argument would forever be that Shimmer was not the enemy of Zaun. It was a boon. A hard-earned, painfully created boon, but one nonetheless.

If she had to let it go to appease the council... She would, but not without fighting for some of it to remain or sorting out seemingly unrelated refineries popping up on the black market. She wouldn't share this with Vander. Chances are he already suspected it, anyway. There was no need to confirm it. Finding a balance to bid for Zaun's freedom without sacrificing what made them stronger. It wasn't going to be easy.
