How sweet this is, sweeter than Barnabas believes himself worthy of. An indulgence that is not saintly nor sanctified, and yet he cannot find himself pulling away from it. Though it gnaws at him, at his principles and ideas of morality, those words of his god ever echo into his mind, and even into this terribly gentle moment.
