Had it not been winter, there might have been more to see in terms of the foliage in the area. And while the landscape still holds splender in the chilly months, the frost clinging to what vegetation preserves while otherwise some remnant of snow from days past persists, Barnabas doubts this is worthy of this girl's intrigue. Yet, he doesn't know enough to name her a liar outright, he simply has no reason to trust her word.
Trust is not something he offers for free, even for teenaged girls who remind him of someone long dead.
"Indeed it is." He answers her simply, almost seeming amused by her challenge, the slight lilt in his voice betraying it just so. "Though, it is not merely Stonhyrr you are ill-prepared for. These lands are untamed as levin, and there are beasts which require one to be a competent combatant."
Grani slows in his circling, coming to a stop a little off to the side of them both, though he watches them with a punctuating snort. Barnabas pays him no mind.
Barnabas stays still, his weight not shifting at all from his pose, in fact his arms haven't moved much at all since he's started talking. There's a stillness to him that doesn't quite feel natural, or perhaps he is simply disciplined. Quite the contrast to Gaia's mannerisms, in any case.
"I will not stop you, should you wish to continue on your way."
There might or might not be a behemoth out and about, who's to say?
