He's having less success pulling himself back together, though it'll probably be forgiven. Doubts and fears and worries were shared things, even if the subjects differed a little, and Sephiroth doesn't jerk his hand away from her light squeeze. A slow breath, and carefully he takes a minute or so to regain what composure he can before it all goes to pieces. They'd all be fine. They were long before he came along. That he still woke expecting to hear the low murmur of familiar voices, missed familiar tastes, missed ... all of it was his problem to bear. Not Gaia's.
"It's.. empty. There's no feeling of life here. Just people in a very bad simulation. They're real, we all are, but this place is a caricature of reality and it's unsettling. The one mission I was sent on was unpleasant and bizarre, with little use for my skill set, but it was apparently very important to saving our worlds." Eventually, inflection will creep back into his tone. But for now careful neutrality will do. She wouldn't say anything about the lingering pain, but why risk it? "This place.. this city doesn't feel like a place waiting to be born, it feels like it's waiting to die and nobody really knows what to do about it."
