[Fixing broken problems in his head always goes a lot better than it does on paper, or rather in person as most cases tend to be. Dick can dig himself into very deep personal holes and he thinks classic circles for ages around how he might go about pulling himself out, but when he finally does the thing he's been fixating on-- it has a wonderful habit of blowing up. Mostly, that's because he forgets the human component to it, the counterpart, the need to be polite and a human back.
