[ it's not a good "hmm", it's the annoyed and irritated type where he realizes that the other is doing way too much. a coward. with a roll of his eyes, the hedgehog stands in place with his arms crossed. he's never been a fan of these things knowing they'd try to bite him instead, but with the leafy greens scattered about, the bird runs towards them first to begin pecking and feasting.
they ignore shadow for a moment before staring at him, sniffing at the fur, and that long neck extends to try and nip his shoulder. inches away, and there's a growl that comes from his throat that causes the bird to pull back and return to the greens. ]
