[ Not going to Solmara was clearly a mistake, he could be getting tortured with his good friend Rex— Max, but thinking the wrong name on purpose puts some much needed emotional distance there— but instead he's here, reliving the worst part of childhood.

He spends a while locating all of his people, he only knows one of them, so the rest all get the same introductory spiel: ]

We're all adults here and I don't want to play house, but I'm trying to get enough points to buy a new arm and it'd really help if you kept curfew. Please help me with it.

[ Is he lying? Absolutely, but he's a short guy in his forties, very obviously missing an arm, and he's a pretty good liar, so hopefully that'll get him enough sympathy points for his campers to at least crash on time. ]

[ Being a counselor at least saves Robert from having to do canoeing or whatever. He puts up a shift chart on the wall of the infirmary, hands out vests, and makes himself at home.

It's a bit annoying that his decades building a stellar career have ended up with him treating bee stings and fake tummy aches, but at least he gets to be indoors. Plus, if he's honest with himself, he'd be losing his mind if anyone else had gotten this job.

He's a real doctor and he'll spend camp hanging out at the infirmary treating scrapes, sprains, bee stings, dehydration, heatstroke, near drownings, and whatever made-up ailment people can come up with to get out of camp activities. He'll even let them get away with it if they're not annoying about it. ]
