[ Any other child would probably be intimidated by Barnabas' quiet, stoic presence, but not Fio. A friend of hers has a similar demeanor. Her nerves mostly come from having the responsibilities of a counselor. Unfazed, she puts on a friendly smile during introductions and each time they cross paths when going about the day. After the first couple of days in camp, Fio quickly realizes that she hardly needs to monitor the man or remind him to do any chores. For the most part, she leaves him to his own devices. That removes a little extra weight off her shoulders, when she's already having a difficult time playing into a leader role.
During a moment of respite from counselor duties, she returns to the cabin while hauling a small box of craft supplies from the arts corner, having plans to reinforce some of the flower origami and fold extra additions to decorate the door. Quiet time dedicated to reading and learning about different kinds of crafts has been her favorite part of camp. ]

Of course she does remember he introduced himself as a King—which she may have found fascinating initially, having to share a cabin with a royalty figure. Titles don't really matter here and she would like to treat him like a friend instead. She also remembers that his first name is "Barnabas"... and she's decided that Barnie is his nickname now, not thinking about whether it sounds rude or not.
