In his tower, he was equipped with a replicator, with all the useful tools and materials it could provide - as well as what systems were left online for him to use. Such things are luxuries here; all he has now is the knowledge and principles.

Granted, that is quite a bit...

"If there are books on chemicals for this specific process in the library, that will allow me to assist you more efficiently. If not, we must rely on the most basic of methods, trial and error."
