She remembers the truth: that the people of the Cage are neither alive or dead, but live in the form of "data." If she were still in that form, she would only be able to exist within a virtual landscape or anywhere that fell in between virtual and reality. She wouldn't physically exist.
...She's whole now though, because of a favor that she asked for. And probably because she's here in Etraya. But when she returns to Earth, she will still be in a physical form as well. And possibly the only human alive... until the others can figure out a way to come back as well. ]
