You're perhaps a hundred years back by my reckoning, or a little more, [ he informs him, thoughtful about what that might indicate. He has a bit of a weakness for computer history (having lived through so much of it) so he can place his time period fairly well from that tidbit alone. Typewriters were invented in the 19th century, and closer to the latter end of it, if Harold remembers correctly.

The kindness in not making him twist in his seat is noted and appreciated, and not commented upon. ]


You may find it beneficial to review some recent history of technology. You aren't as far off as you think, it's just that development happened exponentially in the past century, in enormous leaps. If you reviewed those events I suspect you'd feel far less out of date.
