oh shit a rat
WHO: Knife (Antigone), Harold
WHEN: June
WHERE: Deli/diner thing
WHAT: New Yorker recognizing New York rat tendencies in a non-rat
NOTES\WARNINGS: Knife cusses just so much
Being two people is complicated. In Knife's defense, they never really had to keep up a ruse for more than, say, a few hours at any given time; to have to keep this up for weeks is a level of stress of yet unprecedented. It sucks! It's what's kept them from really sticking their neck out to interact, lest they forget who they were interacting as.
They do know two things for certain: One, the food is "free." Allegedly. Price as of yet to be determined if you ask them.
Two: The girl who makes the sandwiches at the deli doesn't like Pending. And for what? Asking if there was a spy network in the place? How is that offensive? Goddamn.
Thankfully, they're ninety-nine percent sure they've never interacted with the deli girl as Antigone...but there's still a chance. Which means...yeah, nah, let's not stoke the ire of the sandwich-slinger.
That's why when Harold double-takes, he'll see a three foot-something, pink little fox girl with her arm stuck in the trash can near the door slowly pulling out the rind of a discarded tomato; she sniffs it and is about to stick it in her mouth when she notices and does a double-take of her own.
"...Can I help you?"
