The law? Medicine as a whole? I don't know. I was like, fifteen. It's like a tradition you have to go through to get your medical licence.

It was important to her as a fundamental building block of her own morality. A crutch she could lean on whenever she was tempted to use her extraordinary gifts for something other than healing.]


If you break it, you lose your licence to practice medicine. Or in my case, use my powers I guess.

[At least in theory. When you can cure cancer in a matter of moments, practicality tends to win out over ethical concerns.]
