WHEN: Mission : Week Two
WHERE: San Francisco
WHAT: Alex and Setsu shoot energy guns and then eat hamburgers, inadvertently doing something exceedingly American that no-one present will see the irony of.
NOTES\WARNINGS: No people or places were harmed in the shooting of these energy guns.
8:10 a.m., hazy. Once again, there's a chill in the air that lingers from the night before, and a cool mist hangs in the air. The bus ride across town to the shooting range is quiet and uneventful; thus far, Setsu hasn't actually encountered any trouble on the buses despite how frequently they ride them, as if the anomaly knows they're expecting it to strike and it's purposefully avoiding them. Or maybe villainous people don't ride the bus. It's anyone's guess at this point.
Nevertheless, from the nearest bus stop, it's still a walk to the range itself. Setsu zips up their jacket to protect against the chill and sets out.
9:15 a.m., cloudy. When it's this cool, Setsu thinks this would have been a good day to go running with Alex instead... However, as much as Setsu likes Alex, this whole thing isn't really for fun. (Or, not completely.) Standing outside the plain, white building, Setsu feels more unarmed than ever in this place where anyone could be an enemy and dangers are impossible to detect until it's too late.
They need to be stronger.
They push those thoughts away as an unfamiliar car with an unfamiliar driver pulls into the lot, and before Setsu can be wary, Alex steps out.
"Alex," they call out with a small smile, half-raising their hand in greeting. "You made it. Good morning."
Although the rest of their outfit is new, current era clothing, they're still wearing the well-worn orange gloves from home, with the thumb and first two fingers missing. They're here to shoot, after all; it's only appropriate.
