Anniversary Valentine's Date Night
WHO: Loki and Hob
WHEN: February 14th
WHERE: Charronway - Montgolfière hot air balloon
WHAT: Why a special date night of course!
NOTES\WARNINGS: Lots of schmoop with a possibility of spice. Will update warnings if necessary.
Valentine’s Day isn’t a holiday that Loki is overly familiar with, but somehow the stuff with the horses going on doesn’t seem like anything he’s heard about it before. It isn’t something anyone on Asgard celebrates, so maybe he’s wrong, but he has been around long enough to know why people celebrate it and this year, he’s got three reasons to do something concerning the holiday of love.
One, he actually has someone he wants to show how much he loves them.
Two, he still feels like an absolute ass about how he treated Hob after his disappearance.
Three, they’ve been together for a whole year already.
As such, he wants to show the man he loves just how much he cares. His first idea is to make him dinner again, but make it something special, but that is what he always does and this feels like it needs more this time. Next he thinks he’ll take him out to a really nice restaurant, but it seems there is no business of the sort on Etraya. Something that Loki feels is sorely lacking. He likes a good pub or diner as much as the next person, but sometimes he wants to treat his partner to a fancy meal, thanks.
Finally, he decides on something a little more casual and yet special as well. He spends the day before preparing. He heads to the grocery store and picks up everything they might need for a picnic. Cold cuts and whatever fruits he can find in the middle of winter, things to make pasta salad and the ingredients to bake some fresh bread in the morning before they go. Loki knows it might be too cold for most people to picnic in the middle of February, but he also finds a number of warm blankets that he can enchant into feeling even warmer with a few quick spells. He also manages to acquire a bottle of wine from the local Dawn winery and some sweet pastries from one of the local cafés.
The full plan is to have some food and then go up in the hot air balloon. It seems like something that would be nice, getting a good aerial view of Etraya, some alone time and some delicious food. And if he’s lucky, this will show Hob just how much Loki appreciates having him in his life, even when he acts like a fool.
