Welcome to Etraya! Everything is fine now. 😊

Arrival goes expected - or it does for the most part. Aurora greets newcomers in the hospital as they awaken, offers a brief explanation and gives them their earpiece so they can communicate with one another.

Around the hospital and outside of it, Companion Bots are hard at work decorating the city for Halloween—complete with festive touches like pumpkins, cobwebs, and glowing ghost decorations. The atmosphere is fun, light-hearted, and maybe just a little spooky. 🎃👻

Some carry buckets of candy, and offer those they come across a trick or treat. Except both options are, in fact, treats. 🍬 Tricks are treats specifically wrapped in a green wrapper that very clearly declares that they are tricks. Treats are wrapped in orange, and labeled with treat! Companion bots will recommend that those who do want to take a trick take them when they're beside their friends. There won't be any permanent effects from these, nor will they be terrible tricks - just fun ones! All effects last roughly 24 hours.

Giggle Drops cause uncontrollable giggling that bubbles up randomly, even during serious conversations.
Beasty Bites cause characters to grow small fangs, and they will begin craving red foods - apples, cherries, etc.
Bat Gummies cause small, bat-like shadows to follow characters around wherever they wander. These shadows are harmless, and super cute.
Pumpkin Puff is a cotton-candy-like treat, that causes their voices to change dramatically. Either becoming significantly deeper or perhaps very high-pitched, as if they've recently inhaled helium.
Floating Fudge gives characters the ability to float in the air! Just a few feet off the ground, but it's still fun. Right?

⏵ getting spooky! ⏴
Etraya is embracing the season - and maybe even going a little overboard.

Around the hospital, a few small pop-up shops are manned by festively dressed companion bots. They offer samples to everyone - although sampling isn't really necessary. After all, everything here is free!

Candy Shops: Perfect for stocking up on sweets and treats for the upcoming trick-or-treating event. These will not stock the tricks the companion bots offer around Etraya, but instead only carry harmless sweets. They do take custom requests, too, and are happy to create the treats others want!

Costume Shops: Find the perfect costume for Halloween! But beware... rumor has it, if you wear a costume, you might become whatever you dressed up as for a few hours. Those who put on vampire costumes may find themselves suddenly craving blood and growing fangs - those with werewolf costumes may find themselves feeling a little wolfish. These effects may last a few hours, up to a few days.

⏵ masquerade ⏴

In the spirit of mystery, Etraya will be hosting a Masquerade Ball outside the hospital through the nights of October 26th and 27th. Dance anonymously with other attendees and make new friends under the cover of your disguise. Everyone receives a single rose they can exchange with someone else throughout the evening. At the stroke of midnight, the roses will reveal the true identities of your masked dance partners. 🌹

⏵ all hallow's eve ⏴

On October 31st, multiple companion bots set up shop along one of the walkways through the larger island towards the center. With chairs and small booths set up, they offer candies out to trick-or-treaters who wander around through the first part of the night. Some of them will request trick-or-treaters to do a trick for them, to earn a bigger treat! They may ask characters to dance, sing, or show a talent unique to them. Can your character bend themselves into a pretzel? They want to see it, and will offer them a nice bracelet in exchange! Can they whistle super loud? Maybe they'll get a nice piece of kevlar armor after showing off. This can be anything within reason - bike parts, small weaponry, armor pieces, toys, canvases for painting. Please request these items HERE.

Not everything is as light-hearted as it seems, however. Aurora issues a warning to the citizens of Etraya: Do not stay outside after midnight. Strange happenings have been reported, and those who disobey may start seeing visions of past loved ones. The visions are compelling—guiding people away from the safety of the buildings and into the mysterious mist surrounding the outskirts.

But be careful, these spirits may not be as friendly as they seem.

If you come into contact with these ghosts, you’ll feel a chilling cold, leading to hypothermia-like symptoms. The longer you’re exposed, the worse it gets. Treatment? You’ll need to be warmed up quickly.

The Companion Bots wanted to join in on the fun, so they painted themselves with glow-in-the-dark paint to look like skeletons. But in the dead of night, for those already suffering from the chilling touch of the ghosts, seeing glowing skeletons approach from the darkness might not be the most comforting sight. 🤖💀

[ it's here that the untouchable demeanor seems to break down. bitterness passes across his face, but there's no use in dwelling on what they can't change. ]

[Accelerator doesn't know the details of what kind of training law enforcement gets, especially ones outside of Academy City's. His home is a special case, with the cops having both advanced technology not seen elsewhere and also being made up of teacher volunteers. When you add in entire other universes... yeah, he doesn't want to make assumptions.

He snorts at the casual answer.]

So then you just really fucking like guns?

[ The swearing is cute. John doesn't truly mind it outside of noting it. He'll probably sit down and analyze why some kid is going around swearing up a storm later. ]

I like this gun. It's mine.

[ Okay, so he does like guns, but he's not exactly going to spill about that to some random kid that walked up and was impressed with his trick. And John is aware that he's not being a good conversation partner, but he doesn't need to be talking about guns with some kid who tries to act above his age by swearing so much. Which is maybe a poor assumption and why he needs to think about the swearing later when he has more of a conversation to go off of. ]

Yeah she's the president.

My sympathies. She's a high-level official in my world but not the president.

[It's hard to imagine any Kryptonian even remotely tolerate a Suicide Squad setup so Jason's guessing Hernan and his team have a different dynamic with their Waller]

Yeah, most of the time. Sometimes I hang at the kid-only farm but I'm bad at... being normal, I think.

[ Dean knows about possessed dolls and it cool with the whole murder stuff, being around him is easier. ]

i. arrival

[Man, now he really couldn't hate these robots. They were so hard at work, and honestly, to him, it was a bit endearing. He could forgive their earlier sin of blasting him with water when he first arrived here, and he most likely would. He wasn't one to hold a grudge and all, but he couldn't help but watch the robots from afar for the time being. Curious about why they do what they do, but he wasn't going to just interrupt them while they were decorating.

He stands in silence for the time being, but hums as he's approached by one of the robots holding the bucket. One hand reaching out for a piece of candy, before he unwraps one and tucks the wrapper in his pocket. Quietly examining the treat, and just eating it without a second thought.]

Hah, I gotta be careful. These things could be poisoned.

[And without care, and again, without a second thought, he pops the second candy in his mouth.]

ii. masquerade

[Masquerade parties were common at the academy, and he was no stranger to them. However, he would always go as an adviser, rather than an attendee. To be given a chance to go as an attendee was a bit awkward, and out of his comfort zone. Just enough that he can feel his skin clamming up from the nerves, while gloved hands shove themselves into his coat pocket so he can fidget with his fingers away from prying eyes.

While he wishes that he could just blend in with the crowd, his towering height and overall appearance makes him stand out. Well aware of this, he does find a place where he can sit down and stay away from most of the attendees. His eyes far away from the crowd, and out the window.]

Nevverr did like attending parties like this when I was a student.

iii. hallow's eve

[That warning should be enough for Hyrilis to go back to his apartment. However, he finds himself lost in the new area, unable to really navigate where he was going. He had walked off needlessly, and away from everyone so he could catch some air. And now he was lost, and there was definitely a chill in the air that he's unable to ignore, even underneath his coat.

His arms wrap around themselves as he tries to find his way back to the apartments, but there's a flash of white that appears in his peripherals. A single blink, and he's almost certain that he sees his wife. What was she doing here, though? And why did she ignore him like that?]

Lilith! Hey--!

[The cold is almost painful when her ghost passes him, and his legs almost feel weak underneath his weight.]

[It seems too easy because it is. Dazai doesn't like to give too much of himself away, won't outright state that he knows John is equally suspicious of the party as he is. So if John is clever enough not respond to the insinuation that Dazai has noticed, he'll change his angle of approach.]

Ah, not quite. I can hardly resist an opportunity to dance with a beautiful woman, after all. The masks and roses are a nice touch, though. Who doesn't find an air of mystery romantic, am I right?

[That much is true. Women tend to find his whole enigmatic vibe attractive. Shame about his trainwreck personality and mental health, though.]

That's the boy he knows. Sure, he seems older, taller, the hair is different, but it's definitely Luffy. He reaches out to squeeze Luffy's shoulder once he recognizes him.

"A couple of weeks. You missed out on the giant scorpions."

He didn't actually enjoy those, but he came out of it with as many limbs as he'd gone in so he's counting it as a win.

( someone aware of art, she wonders if they're able to see the pattern in all things much like her. she doesn't know anyone who can aside from her mother, so if there's someone outside of apeiron who too is able then she should accept this as a blessing from her patron itself. one hand comes to her chest, resting above her heart as she continues. )

Yes, even a moth hypnotized by a flame follows in the same spiral! Life adapting to its pattern, truly a thing of beauty. I haven't seen anything else that can beat its charm.

( for a simple spiral, she sounds more than fond at the idea of it, there's this admiration in her voice. her eyes are sparkling, star-like pupils visible as she continues on. she'll ramble for however long as long as someone is listening to her, and if a masked individual is willing, and has no intentions to forsake what is math then she can do this. )

Other spirals also appear in life... the logarithmic spiral — Dürer spiral if we credit the founder, is stated that a hawk in the midst of hunting their prey glides in this form. It is true, I have seen it for myself. 6 has the proper wingspan and can follow the path perfectly without thought, it must be innate to all avian of that type.

( she emphasizes this spiral by lifting one arm, guiding her fingers as a yellow line of light follows her, glowing brightly at her creation of the logarithmic spiral. it floats in the air for a brief moment before disappearing into thin air. )

I must say these sights are a natural phenomena which is a treat of the Phenomenal World.

And that's why it's such a unique symbol. It is special, much like finite is cut from infinite. To have an ending, you must have a beginning. How special. It will always be something.

( she nods, however she does agree that the bots should not be given something as special as pi, instead, she still feels rhombus is perfect. )

They are deformed, very much so like a rhombus.

( 37 corrects, looking to him as though this is obvious. orderly isn't the word she'd use, but annoying is one she can accept.

she holds one hand out to the companion bot to place emphasis on it. )

Unreliable, and could snap at any moment.

The farm is a normal farm, a couple of kids invited other kids to live there because there's a ton of us.

Also, I got a joke for you to tell Dean. It's gotta be you, it won't be funny otherwise.

( this place is genuinely an odd place, she isn't familiar with its customs nor has she found a costume to call her own. instead, she's been moving from one place to another, but this time it's not for the festivities, it's more to prove a theory. with her arms extended out for balance, she steps with one foot then out with the other as she shows 6 she can follow the pattern on the ground. )

Do you see? The surface here isn't completely flat so... be mindful of this slope.

( there's no slope to be found visibly, but to 37, it's there and shouldn't be ignored. it's a dangerously small slope that someone or anyone could trip over, and when she's about to show 6 the best place to step is when a voice appears, it throws her calculations off as she wasn't applying it to her abstract world.

she turns her head to see where it's coming from, her eyes catching accelerator mid complaint, and mot watching her step — the hem of her toga catches underneath her feet, tripping 37 forward and onto the ground with a loud thump. )

[ Is he high? Maybe he's high right now. Somehow.

Well, Vax supposes he should accept a little help, given his current condition. His hand reaches for the trunk. He can't even feel his fingers, they're so cold, but he manages a grip and tries to get to his feet. ]

I'm sorry, are you... how the hell are you talking?

[ Sure, there are different species in his world, but even the animal races still resemble men or walk on two legs. This is as if Trinket, their bear companion, suddenly started speaking to them. ]

I... see.

[ he still doesn't really understand, but he'll take logan's word for it that sometimes children just decide to inhabit farms. ]

What is it?

[ John takes a moment to obviously scan over the room while he formulates a reply. He isn't sure if the comment about women is an assumption about him, aimed at learning more about him, or commentary on his conversation partner. He's hoping for the first or last but bets on the middle option.

It would be easy to angle Finch into this role, they have a shared connection, he won't even have to make anything up, but he'd rather not get Finch involved in whatever game is being played right now. He could also pretend that his conversation partner has his attention, can let his smile spread, can refocus his attention a little more sharply— but he doesn't think that's the right angle either. If this was truly a mark he was trying to get close to then it would be the obvious next step, but in the end this is just a party, just a conversation. ]

I did talk with a very beautiful woman earlier tonight. How about you? Any luck?

[ He'll go with the women angle. And besides, it's even true. ]

Tell him people keep telling you that you keep taking things literally, and that you keep telling them you don't. That people who take things literally aren't angels, they're kleptomaniacs.

[ he's not entirely sure castiel will get it, but dean will and that's what'll make it funny. ]

... All right. I'll tell him.

[ it's only as he's committing the joke memory that the meaning clicks, and he arches an eyebrow. ]

I was in Heaven for 2000 years before I was tasked with raising Dean.

[ he's a bit behind on his lore, okay? ]

[Dazai, himself, has been keeping to the edges; it's easier to people-watch that way, get a read on the sorts of people who have been brought in as representatives of their universe. So of course the woman keeping to herself in a corner catches his eye.]

Ah, no? That's a shame. But I suppose the most beautiful things are kept tucked away for a reason.

[Sometimes you're raised poorly and acquire some unfortunate verbal tics, and sometimes you refuse to try and fix them. It happens!

Accelerator inclines his head curiously.]

What's so special about it?

[Guns are an incredibly useful backup weapon since he can't consistently rely on his ability anymore, though he hasn't been using them for very long. For him his preferences have been geared towards weight (because his muscle strength is abysmal) and ease of use one with only one hand (since his other one is taken up by his crutch), so he's interested in why this guy likes this one in particular.]

I have questions.

[ since he's not being smitten he's now more at ease. castiel seems like the type who can be bullied in a friendly way, kinda like dean. ]

This place loves ghosts almost as much as it loves its teamwork-based challenges.

Lisa's power means she almost always knows when the ghosts aren't real. That doesn't mean she doesn't get something out of seeing them. So she stays up late this month, pushing through the cold, lingering out twenty or so minutes past midnight.

Sometimes she says things to her ghost. Things like I miss you or Should I fix this? Do you want me to? The ghost never answers, and after a while, Lisa packs it up and goes inside.

Harold finds her after one of these excursions, a blonde young woman with heavy eye makeup and a piercing gaze staggering through the door, clutching at her arms as she tries to warm up. When she catches sight of Harold, she straightens up, drops her arms, and smiles, as if there's nothing unusual about her entrance. She even offers him a little wave, as he sits there staring at the radio.

"You must be new here. Waiting for someone to call you back?"
