[ Sandalphon is merely pacing through the halls when he passes right by that open door with its Welcome sign. He may not have noticed at all, occupied with his own thoughts as he is, but the rich aroma of coffee draws his attention.

Prompts him to backpedal.

Now he observes the welcome sign and pokes his head into the doorway. Being a very literal creature, he takes the welcome as an invitation and steps into the apartment... Though he doesn't so much announce himself as stand there glancing about like a tourist. ]

[ Nicky is setting the table when his guest looks in, and smiles at him standing at the door. Just a quick look over Sandalphon, if he seems especially hungry, hurt, or tired... ]

Please, come in. Coffee, and cookies.

[ Sandalphon looks to be in prime health, though the armor on his upper body strikes as decidedly medieval in appearance. Oddly enough, it hardly makes a sound when he ventures further into the apartment. ]

Is this what mortals refer to as an "open house"?

[ He's absolutely taking a stab in the dark, undersocialized as he is. But he does hear various terms tossed around. ]

[ Is this what it feels like to be referred to as a mortal? Well, it is true. He is indeed mortal. (Just not currently.) ]

Indeed. May I ask your name?

[ Before he asks after the armour. Silent, yes, well crafted. Nicky can appreciate art. ]

[ Ah yes. The polite thing to do is offer his name when meeting someone. Sometimes he forgets these things, more out of odd inexperience than age. ]

My name is Sandalphon. I do not mind being called something else, so long as it isn't "Sandy".

[ Personal reasons, long story. ]

And how should I address you?

Sandalphon,

[ Nicky mimics his pronunciation as closely as possible. ]

I am Nicholas. A pleasure to meet you. Where are you from, if I may ask?

Ah, I know another Nicholas.

[ A familiar name, but a different man. ]

My world is the Sky Realm. Thus far, I think I'm the only one. And yourself?

I am from Earth. [ Whoa, a Sky Realm. ] And like yourself, I think I am the only one from mine. Perhaps it is usual to come one at a time, but I do not know.

[prevail]

Earth.

[ He tests the word in this new context, only knowing it as one of the tetra elements. The one Uriel had presided over. So a world out there is named that too... ]

I couldn't say whether it's common either. It may be worth asking the others, at some point in time.

[ Wouldn't it be curious, to call forth only one person to champion a world and multiple for others? For now, though, Sandalphon eyes the cookies. ]

...You seem to have done a great deal of baking.

Yes, I have.

[ It's worth knowing who else is here - hence the deliberate excess of food. People like to talk while they eat; he assumes this is true of other worlds too. It is so.. fundamental. ]

Please, do have some.

[ Sandalphon considers mentioning that he doesn't need to eat, but he recalls distinctly that people have deemed refusal of offered food to be impolite. ]

...Very well.

[ He delicately plucks up one cookie with slim fingers, sparing it a thoughtful look. ]

The aroma is distinctive.

[ Nicky does not Stare - he observes, discreetly, and also supplies a cup of coffee to wash down that cookie. They go together! ]

I imagine you do not have these, where you are from. They are a very popular dessert, at home.

[ Sandalphon hums thoughtfully. ]

I wouldn't be the best judge. [ He admits, shut-in that he is. Still, he takes a nibble of the cookie, eyebrows drawn together in deeper contemplation than a cookie might warrant. ] It's pleasant.

[ And, indeed, unfamiliar. The coffee, on the other hand, he approaches more confidently. After taking in its aroma, Sandalphon takes a hearty gulp of it. ]

...If I may ask, how was this coffee prepared?
