December Library Catch-All [ OPEN ]
WHO: John, Harold, and anyone who might find themselves at the Library
WHEN: December
WHERE: The Library!
WHAT: The Library is here and open to all! Come borrow books, find a comfy chair to relax in, or snoop around.
NOTES\WARNINGS: Will be added as they come up
The Library is a five-story neoclassical building of terra cotta, brick, and stone. And the inside is, in fact, a library! And rather clean and organized too. There's no dust, no muddy footprints (apart from your own), and all the shelves are organized by Dewey Decimal, subject, and author. All literature is something you might find in a 2010 New York City library: various forms of fiction, children's and teens' sections, history, science, cooking, gardening, the list goes on. There's even small sections of audiobooks on compact disks and of DVDs ranging from old classics to history shows. The first floor has a reading/study room, a comfortable space with deep armchairs and tables with chairs; the fifth floor has some smaller tables clustered under a skylight. Part of the second floor is abruptly closed off by a door with a biometric scanner that denies entry to anyone who isn't John Reese or Harold Finch; the walls surrounding this section are soundproofed, so even a keen listener won't hear anything from inside. Otherwise, it's a perfectly normal library!

I liked being on the ship. [ Maybe that's why he suggested this using the wording he did, huh. Maybe sailing around and seeing new places is the point. Not that Fabian would really reject the idea of having some adventures along the way, but there would also be something a little nice about him and any of his friends not constantly being in mortal peril. Maybe being able to choose for once if they actually want to involve themselves with something they come across, rather than practically being forced into it. ]
And-- you know, I've made enough of a name in Elmville by now. What else could I still reach after having become Maximum Legend?
[ There's only so many times you can save the world and throw amazing parties in one place before it gets old, Riz! Fabian's got a legacy to make!! ]
Isn't traveling the best way to get your name known out there? I mean, just imagine how famous you'd become as my first mate! [ Because that's.. clearly what everyone wants, right.. becoming famous for being a first mate of all things, rather than one in charge... ]

His grin is crooked but earnest as he says, ] I dunno if being famous is that great for a Rogue. You can take the fame, and I'll snipe out your enemies from a distance. They can figure out some kind of cool name for me, like... like... the invisible... the sneaky...
[ He wrinkles his nose. ]
...we'll workshop it. Anyway, you're right. We've kinda accomplished all we can in Elmville. And I've always wanted to see the world anyway! The furthest I've ever been from home was for Spring Break, you know.
[ His and Fabian's lives couldn't be more different. Fabian's world was adventures on the open sea, and Riz's was the four walls of his apartment, the school, the library. Fabian's had a taste of Riz's life by now, these past few years in Elmville. Now it's Riz's turn to see the world.
Once they get out of this place, anyway. They're working on it. ]

But instead of saying that, he just says-- ]
Deal, The Ball.
[ It's a pirate sworn oath now!! Can't back out!!
Fabian pauses, looks around him.. and, as if realizing where they were all this time, he lets out a loud dramatic sigh. ]
Now, can we finally get out of this library already?
