December Library Catch-All [ OPEN ]
WHO: John, Harold, and anyone who might find themselves at the Library
WHEN: December
WHERE: The Library!
WHAT: The Library is here and open to all! Come borrow books, find a comfy chair to relax in, or snoop around.
NOTES\WARNINGS: Will be added as they come up
The Library is a five-story neoclassical building of terra cotta, brick, and stone. And the inside is, in fact, a library! And rather clean and organized too. There's no dust, no muddy footprints (apart from your own), and all the shelves are organized by Dewey Decimal, subject, and author. All literature is something you might find in a 2010 New York City library: various forms of fiction, children's and teens' sections, history, science, cooking, gardening, the list goes on. There's even small sections of audiobooks on compact disks and of DVDs ranging from old classics to history shows. The first floor has a reading/study room, a comfortable space with deep armchairs and tables with chairs; the fifth floor has some smaller tables clustered under a skylight. Part of the second floor is abruptly closed off by a door with a biometric scanner that denies entry to anyone who isn't John Reese or Harold Finch; the walls surrounding this section are soundproofed, so even a keen listener won't hear anything from inside. Otherwise, it's a perfectly normal library!

God must not care about literature. Or how you behave in front of your peers.
[ He could have made that mocking, or like a joke, but he lets his face fall back into its typical severe state. ]

[ He interlaces his fingers and crosses his legs. Resting his linked hands on top of his knee, he offers a slight smile. ]
But however flawed we are... we are loved. And isn't that nice?

But he doesn't want to give that piece of information to Vincent. It's distasteful, but giving that sort of victory away is worse. Still, John places his hands carefully in front of him on the desk, fingers spread out. It's not a threatening gesture on the surface, but John puts a bit of intensity in the set of his shoulders. ]
I'm glad to know I'm loved when I enforce respectful use of the library.

[ He presses his hand over his chest. In some ways, he's glad it devolved into this rather than touch anything that he's sensitive about. It seems like the library is something of a concern to Reese, but he isn't sure what that might be.
Should he look into it? His eyes drift to the side. Any weakness might be an advantage later, but this seems -- as he drifts his eyes back -- a little dangerous. Perhaps, too dangerous for right now. A little pin is put in this note.
He dips his head in apology and fake embarrassment. ]
Or were you just using this as a means to scold me? How embarrassing for me.

As I said, I'm feeling reassured now. I know there's a benevolent god watching my actions.

[ Vincent shakes his head dismissively. If his God was here, this entire atmosphere would be much different. It is for the best that She isn't, either. ]
I hope you can still feel reassured, though.

God isn't here? How do you know?
no subject
He sets his hands on the desk and stands up. ]
I'm sorry about the trouble before.
[ He drops his head a little. ]
I'll see myself out.
no subject
Take care on your way out, Father.
