Sevika paused to consider both questions, though it would be the first she lingered on the longest. She gave Vander a hard look, perhaps seeing something in him that he wouldn't know to look for, something someone used to Shimmer and those who used it might make note of but would pass by unnoticed by anyone else. Sure, there were the obvious tells. Scarring like her own, or worse, only that left out the majority of users, those who treated it lightly because they only ever had to deal with those versions that had been tamed, never dwelling on how they had ever gotten to that point in the first place.

Ultimately, she decided aloud, "I give you even odds. Fifty-fifty, but only because you have a hell of a lot more willpower than most people do. Like I said before, you had the worst of the worst. Even I wouldn't touch the original Shimmer these days."

Which meant she must have at one point. Not all experiments were in the not-so-good doctor's lab, and the only test subject at hand would have been herself. However, those weren't days she felt like revisiting in detail.
