⏵ a hero's return ⏴ As champions exit the Labyrinth, they’ll find that their environment has gone through some fairly drastic changes. Where there used to be larger bodies of water is now thinner rivers going through land; the amount of bridges connecting landmasses has decreased, given what had been individual islands are now much more connected. In addition, Etraya is significantly more green; flowers bloom, birds chirp cheerfully, and there are numerous additional species of insects, mammals, and aquatic creatures throughout the lands. Baby foxes roam through forested areas, bees pollinate the flowers to spread them more thoroughly around the inhabited areas, and it feels brighter. Or perhaps that’s just in comparison to how the Labyrinth had been. There are more areas to explore, new facilities, animals, and Etraya feels significantly more settled than it had before. Aurora’s promise of renovations had been true. And if one looks up, they may notice a city bubble visible on the closest planet that hadn't been visible before. ⏵ coffee break ⏴ After hearing Clarke’s suggestion, Aurora sets up a new cafe close to the apartment complex, and sends out notices to individuals with mandatory coffee hour times listed for them to come to Corrine's Cafe and make a few friends. While the note does state that it is mandatory, there will be no follow-up from Aurora nor the companion bots to ensure those who receive notes do show. Given this is Aurora trying to take suggestions in mind and see how successful they are among the citizens of Etraya, however, following directives may not be a terrible idea. It's up like a modern-day, smaller cafe. One walks in through the front door, and is greeted by a companion bot behind the counter who offers a wave of their hand and a friendly “Welcome! Let me know when you’re ready to order”. The menu offers lattes, mochas, espresso, black coffee, several different kinds of teas, and a few drinks that are a little odd to find in a cafe; ale, canned sodas and coffees, numerous bottles of wine, but only pinot noir. Soft music plays in the background, impossible to place but it sounds as if it may be based on tracks that were popular in the early 90s. Tables and booths are set up to seat two to four, with packets of sugar and small containers of creamer set out towards the middle. There are charging stations set up at every table, which may seem strange considering phones and laptops aren’t widely available, but Aurora’s doing her best. There are also a few bookshelves full of the classics, a few historical fiction, and several written by H.P. Lovecraft. Each seat has a placard in front of it, with a name, and a ‘fun fact’. One might say “Hello! My name is Joe, and I like to paint!” Another may say “Hi, I’m Jill! My sister died tragically in front of me and I’ve never gotten over it.” ⏵ new horizons ⏴ Several of the new bridges found in Etraya now have signs posted just outside of them, and on those signs is a QR code that the earpiece’s HUD can scan. Scanning this with the HUD will bring up a scavenger hunt, listing several items and circling areas where they can be found. Some of these objects will be obvious: find Corrine at Corrine’s Cafe - the companion bot who runs the counter, find a delicious meal at Bangsan Market, break into S.T.A.R Labs, or find room 87 at Point Blanc Academy. Some will be less obvious, like locating a bat, becoming friends with an archer, find a pink shirt, open bagged milk without making a mess, or get a drink at the mutant-friendly pub. [Bobbi likes people so she probably would have likely come to the events even if they weren't mandatory. Something about them being mandatory somehow makes the entire thing slightly more uncomfortable for her then it would otherwise be.

She orders a tea. Probably because she typically has enough coffee in the time she spends around Clint and adds enough sugar to satiate her sweet tooth. She plays with the bag while it steeps.

Depending on the day her sign may say the following:

A. Hi my name is Bobbi Morse and I was abducted by aliens.
B. Hi my name is Dr Barbra Morse and I like corgis.
C. Hi my name is Bobbi Morse and I don't age.

Depending on the plate her mood changes slightly but genuinely she tries to not think about just how much these people know about them.]

[Bobbi spends her times exploring the new areas of the city. You may catch her enjoying at tropical beverage at Harry's Hideaway looking a little down into whatever drink she's currently drinking but she perks up with conversation. She drops by Big Belly Burger to stave off some of the cravings tied up with the super serum that cores through her veins and makes her constantly hungry. And she spends some time looking around trying to find some furniture or something else big and heavy to throw around to get out her frustration.]

[ Adaine slips into the seat across from this woman, cup of hot chocolate in one hand, and her own name card in the other. Hers reads I'm Adaine, and I'll outlive all my friends! As she reads the woman's card, she lets out a hollow chuckle without much of any mirth. ]

Hah. Seems like we have something in common.

[Bobbi takes a sip of tea as she reads over the sign and has to fight back the urge to make a morbid joke about planning to go out in a flashy fire before that happens. ]

Honestly, I think I'm going to have to start a rumor that I'm like 500 years old after this one. At least make myself seem cool and mysterious.

[There's nothing mysterious about Bobbi Morse, she's a little bad ass sure, but very much one of those what you see is what you get sort of people.]

[ Adaine shrugs. ]

I might live to 500 eventually, if something else doesn't kill me first. Plenty of elves live that long. But I'm still very much seventeen for now, and happy to stay that way for at least another few months.

[ Something occurs to her suddenly. ]

What month is it here, even? Do we have any way of knowing?

It's been pretty unclear to me, time seems strange.

[She shrugs. 17 out of 500 or so seems extremely young but who knows how years even work in the world she's from. ]

500 seems cool. I don't really how long I'm supposed to live, the earliest person to deal with the weird science I've been exposed to was like 70 years ago and he still seems young and normal so who knows.

It was raining a lot when I got here, which could be an "April showers bring May flowers" thing... Which I guess would put us closer to spring?

[ That doesn't feel too far off, based on the lush greenery of the city around them. But again, hard to tell whether that saying even exists in any worlds other than Spyre. ]

Oh, so your longevity is a science thing, then? Not natural?

[Bobbi looks down and takes a drink of her coffee frowning a bit. In fact, none of it had been her idea. Her ex-husband had been desperate not to let her die and ended up saving her with something that elongated her life indefinitely. ]]

Nope, got saved from a disaster and woke up and learned "So you're never going to age again."

[She looks back up at her.]

Honestly it was pretty weird.

[Seems like today Aurora decided to encourage bonding through similarities, rather than embarrassing or dark secrets. Natsuno's own card reads Hi, I'm Natsuno and I have no idea what to do with the rest of my immortal existence!]

So what's your deal? Goddess, spirit, necromancer...

[She's not undead, that much he can tell.]

[She reads Natsuno's sign and her eyebrows arc up. Now immortality is a completely different thing and she's super curious about it. If he's asking her so bluntly would it be rude to ask herself?]

I can still die, just don't age, fancy science experiment basically. Although I guess I can't die here so if I was here forever... [Now that's an entirely new scary thought that she might be stuck forever if that's the case.]

What about you?

[Huh. First time he hears about a science experiment. The idea gives him the creeps, honestly, but maybe it's because his own experiences with mad scientist types.]

Vampire.

[She answered, so it's only fair that he returns the favor.]

Please don't ask if I sparkle.

[It was that or death and her ex-husband chose eternal life. She's not bitter about it at all.. okay she's frequently bitter about it. She takes a drink of her tea considering the comment.]

I've never met a vampire. [She doesn't know what she expected but it somehow wasn't that. Maybe cause most of the immortals she knew were more like Thor.]

I don't know what the sparkle thing is a reference to, sorry. [Kidnapped by aliens during that whole mess Bobbi missed a lot of the 00's pop culture references.]

Me neither. Apparently it's from a movie that came out after my time.

[Having died in 1994, he missed a lot of references, not to mention technological advancements, but interdimensional kidnapping has a way of catching one up. Natsuno's quite relieved she doesn't know this particular piece of vampire fiction.]

They don't exist everywhere. But I guess there's no way of knowing if you've really never met one, or they just blended in.

[She nods at that and takes a sip of tea. She's not really sure how the concept of immortality and after time match up together but it feels like it might be rude to press the question.]

They exist where I am from, but you're right - living in Manhattan I suppose I probably have and just didn't even know. [Really though she's wondering about that. Last she'd heard Marc was working with Vampires somewhere but she'd just heard it in passing from Greer she hadn't seen him in forever.]

Common in your world? How exactly are you dealing with the whole food thing here?

That seems like a story.

[ Dick has managed a shower, a shave, and to find some clothes that aren't his torn and mangled Nightwing suit, and now he takes his seat across from the blonde woman, along with a sign that says: My name is Dick Grayson and I grew up in a circus. ]

Maybe a little much for an icebreaker, though. Unless — and based on what I know of alien abductions, this seems unlikely — it was a fun abduction for some alien party?

[Bobbi is annoyed at her sign today enough that she shoots her eyes up at Dick for a second when he mentions it, but then he also says it's a lot and well -- okay she can forgive him. ]

Absolutely too much for an icebreaker. [She admits reading his card and huffing out a laugh.]

That one's good though. I have a friend here who grew up in a circus too. You got any cool skills from it?

A few.

[ He grins at her, friendly, and lifts his coffee for a sip. ]

My parents were trapeze artists. So was I. We had a whole family act.

[ It's been long enough now that he can talk about it easily, the memories more warm and wistful than sad. His parents would have been proud of the man he's become, he thinks. ]

How about your friend? Did they have an act?

[The family comment is interesting. Bobbi's not sure why she has the thoughts that everyone must be like Clint and have run away to the circus but it's interesting. She picks up the past tense and tries not to dwell on what might be a loss.]

He's a target guy. Archery, knives whatever. You'll probably see him around somewhere big guy in purple with a bow.

[She shrugs.] Trapeze sounds really cool though. Is that something you continue to train or is it like riding a bicycle?

Great. Maybe he and I can put together a revue show: I can swing on a trapeze and he can shoot an apple off my head.

[ He's joking, but also: that would be fun. ]

It's better if you keep training. It's a little less dangerous if you're rusty at riding a bike. You've only got a couple of feet to fall.

Gotta get entertainment somewhere huh? [She laughs at the idea, Clint absolutely could do it and it would be hilarious to see. ]

Yeah I guess a bike was a poor choice of analogy there? Are you able to train anywhere around here?

New Horizons

[Three days in a row now, Dick has made an appearance at Harry's Hideaway to sate his craving for decent alcohol and possibly meet someone new. He's been pretty good at doing the first thing, but hasn't really accomplished the latter. He blames good old fashioned exhaustion for dampening his outgoing spirit.

The third day though, Dick turns to the person next to him-- a young looking blonde and smiles. She seems pretty preoccupied with the fruity beverage in front of her, but it doesn't stop him from saying hello. ]

Hey there, sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but notice how good your drink smells. What did you order?

[mockingbirdy]

[Bobbi doesn't mind drinking alone which is what she's bene doing until Dick joins her. She's drinking out of something large enough to be a fish bowl, a side effect of that she has super metabolism that makes it significantly harder to get drunk then the average person so it's easier to go big then go home.]

Hey. Well, unfortunately I don't think it has a name? I just asked the bot to make me something strong and sweet.

[She gives him a considering look.] I supposed I could come up with a name for it though?

[All Dick knows is that he's watching a woman drown herself in a lovely fishbowl. Really, he's known a few women who could do it. Not that Donna is one to drink, but if she was-- she could handle it. Dawn would do it, but she'd be fall down drunk. Kory, now Kory would down the thing and a few more like it. She was a fierce woman. He missed her, even if they parted on strange terms. Alas. It made him smile watching Bobbi drink. ]

I would consider that about as strong as it comes. I mean, I can see the fumes coming from here.

[He teases, but lightly. He thinks and tips his head.]

I say go for it. Give their next big hit a name. I have to think that it would put me under the table, and I drink all the time.

[She smiles at the ability to admit that. There's men she'd know in her life that absolutely would not they'd rather pass out right in front of her still insisting they could. The honesty is refreshing.]

I'm cheating, I metabolize everything really fast so if it's not a lot and strong it doesn't do the trick. [A hand motions to the cocktail explaining exactly why it's the prefect thing.]

I'm Bobbi by the way.

[He nods his head in a rather knowing fashion. He's met a few people along the way who are like that. Conner-- superman/lex luthor's clone son was like that, poor kid. He would never know he fun. He assumed superman was the same way. There were quite a few others. At least he didn't feel quite as bad looking at the bowl. ]

Well, now I don't feel as bad. I mean, I can still do a couple bottles of tequila and possibly be on my back, but I usually remember things. I'm not a terrible drunk from what I'm told.

[He grinned widely.]

I'm Dick, Dick Grayson. Nice to meet you Bobbi. So, do you have superpowers too, is that why you metabolize so fast? I- I'm in the business, but simply human. Don't tell anyone I told you that. We're supposed to keep it a secret, but I feel bad asking and not letting you know. [Another wobbly grin]

[She gives him a side eye when he mentions he could down a couple of bottles because that man is skinny but she doesn't actually have time to consider because he's telling her that he's a secret super hero.

Did people actually still keep their identities secret now-a-days? Surely that's only if they're a mess like Spiderman or Daredevil. ]

I'm really strong. [Among other things but the strength is the thing that's easiest to explain so she goes with it. ]

I met someone else here by that name already. Any relation? [She assumes it's a multiversal thing, which isn't so crazy. She's met people from another world who were somewhat like some of her friends.]
