( snagging salt from the kitchen is a problem when eddie is kind of, sort of, in charge of what goes on in the kitchen. hell if he knows why he was assigned to something that requires tact and coordination, something like cooking. he's been living on microwave meals for the better part of his adult life; making food that's both edible and servable has been more of a challenge than he'd like to admit.
perhaps made all the more challenging when he's so neurotically certain of how many boxes of salt they started the day with compared to how many they're ending with. granted, a little salt gone missing doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it's the kind of tiny, innocuous thing that leads to bigger things. the kind of thread that a journalist like eddie made a career out of tugging.
it's one box of missing seasoning, and then it's trailing a guy, and then it's watching him draw demonic little patterns with chalk and dust. seems like the sort of thing he should let lie, and yet he is a thief, and he is shady, and they are they lethal protector, therefore they must protect this camp lethally, eddie!!
