WHO: Scott, Julian, Quentin, Nate's comatose body, and any other mutant that wants to bother them
WHEN: A few days before Camp Etraya ends, after this thread
WHERE: Camp Etraya
WHAT: A comatose Nate and Scott return to the camp after the mission at Solmara
NOTES\WARNINGS: mutants being assholes
[So, there's something happen in the middle of camp.
Mostly Julian and Quentin arguing-- talking to each other, which, probably isn't really all that surprising on a normal day. However, there's that great added bonus of Julian carrying Nate's unconscious bodyin a princess hold, which probably gives the whole grumbling at each other a little more gravitas. Because he definitely is unconscious-- comatose, not twitching at all amongst the commotion.
Scott's standing a little off to the side from them and probably unsurprisingly from the teen, looking grumpy and moody. Also worried. But definitely those first two emotions because a rather big revelation happened thanks to a Mr. Hellion. So, he's just sort of dealing with that little tidbit of information, while also blaming himself slightly for Nate being comatose in the first place. It's also annoying that he can't do much else right now.
What a great time for others to say hi to everyone, right? See what's going on. Welcome back the assholes from Solmara?? And the two that brought them here.]
[ooc: A mutant mingle log to bother everyone. Have fun!]

Like he probably knew of the whole father and son thing, but since they're focusing on Nate's well-being... and he is feeling guilty about it still, that emotion prevails against the others.
The teen doesn't release his arm, head glancing over at the others for a moment.]
I. I should've blasted Beckett more or something. Like. Stop Nate from using his powers too much against him. Noticed that he was using them too much to begin with. [....] Maybe insisted that he didn't fly us back, I... could've figured a different way across the desert.
[Saying this stuff out loud, it feels like he could've done a lot of other things. Make better plans???]

[Scott usually was, but seeing as he's just a lil' guy right now, maybe he wasn't.]
At least everyone's alive...? [Wade doesn't have the best track record with that, after all.]
no subject
[It wasn't directly stated, but that kind of felt like the reason why he was there, mostly. Kind of feels more like that after finding about the whole father son thing.]
And I don't know about the others in the group.
[He bites his lip, another flash of guilt passing through Scott. He planned on going back to Solmara to help complete the mission, but the portal only has enough for exactly 15 trips. If he went back now, he'd be taking away someone's chance of coming back. And. That would be fucked. So, he's here now. He didn't even know about that whole restriction until coming back... but Scott probably would've done the same thing anyway.
Drag Nate back through the portal. He needed help.]
They really seemed capable and stuff. [But yeah he's worried. He just has to trust in their abilities, right?]
no subject
Right, sure. I barely know Nate, but I'm guessing he didn't want to be watched over? And was trying to do the exact same back to you? A battle of who could be the most sacrificial... [He glances at Nate, frowning.] Guess he won.
[He doesn't really know what else to say. Family shit is not his wheelhouse. His family was shit. He didn't know anything else.]

And he will recover. Scott isn't going to consider anything else. He can't, even as he continues to watch Nate's unmoving form in Julian's arms.
Some of that worry morphs, a helpless sort of anxiety clinging onto him with the remaining bit turning into stress and causing him to fold his hands into tight fists. He needs to vent, probably, and since Wade is the closest mutant to him right now...]
He still shouldn't have pushed himself so hard.
no subject
Well, you can read him the riot act about it when he wakes up? [Wade offers, with ah shrug.] Not sure if that will work, though. Might just make him do it harder next time.
no subject
[Just so that he can tell him off?? Sure, maybe a little bit of that, along with Scott trying and failing to hide how upset and worried he was, because that's the core of the matter. Nate almost died right in front of him-- that's what it felt like at least. While it was cool to see him defeat Beckett, he also can't forget the moment when he and Nate plummeted to the ground after the latter used up all his energy, with the other mutant lying limp and not waking up no matter how much he yelled.
It sucked and he doesn't want something like that to happen again.
Scott breathes heavily out from his mouth, the sound still heavy and burdened with stuff that he's trying to hide, but a part of him feels like crashing somewhere too. He's exhausted, but...]
You really care about Nate, huh? [Everyone seems to like Nate, guess he gets it.] Even though you said that you don't know him that well.
no subject
Yeah, I do care about him. Because he remi-- [Wade realizes his mistake too late, stopping suddenly. 'Because he reminds him of Cable'.] Because, I mean-- look at him! Who wouldn't?
[Fuck.]
no subject
Unfortunately, it's clear that Scott managed to piece together everything that was left unsaid, the teen's mouth thinning as he's reminded of the fact that everyone seems to know more about him than him. Except it's not even him, but some alternative future version of him. That sounded stupid even in his head, damn.
Some irritation leaks in his voice, because he just wants to make one thing clear.]
Because he reminds you of my other son, right? Yeah, don't worry about that, the cat's out of the bag on that one. [......] So don't bother trying to sidestep there.
