WHAT: Chrissy dreamwalks into a nightmare

[They're in a skyscraper, near the top of the building when Jason becomes aware of something different about his dream. He's still strapped to the window washer's basket, struggling against his binds, Dick and Kori still look out at him in panic, but something is different. Jason stares through the glass and realizes there's and extra person. No longer is it only the duo of Dick and Kori but there's a third person present.

It takes him a moment as the nightmare seems to freeze. No longer does the wind whip around his bloodied ears as his mind searches to identify the extra person.

When he does recognize Chrissy, Jason's heart drops.

The wind picks up again, the C4 on the basket resumes its beeping, and suddenly everything is moving very, very quickly. He opens his mouth to shout, to tell her to look away, but he can't be heard through the glass.]

Casually assuming this is after the Disney trip

[This can't be her dream, unless Vecna has learned a new trick.

Almost immediately, she's hit with an overwhelming sense of deja vu... which makes no sense because Chrissy is fairly certain that she's never seen this place before. There aren't any buildings this tall in Hawkins, and she's never really gone inside any of the ones in Nova City because she's never had any reason to.

It takes her a moment to realize that she's not alone. She spots the man and woman first, notices that they're looking out the window, and whirls around to see what they're looking at. Confusion and recognition wash over her all at once. Jason is just standing there, behind a window with no immediately visible way through, apparently tethered to the window washer's basket he's standing in. She opens her mouth to say something and promptly closes it again, because what the hell is she even supposed to say to any of this?]

[Jason hears the beep go solid and then quiet. He shouts at her, at Dick and Kori, before the entire basket drops. Jason barely manages to free his hands in time and clings to the edge of the window sill with gloved hands.]

Chrissy! [In his nightmares, Dick throws him from the building and Jason is distantly aware that this is a dream.]

[Yelling at someone in a dream that doesn't even belong to her probably isn't going to make much of a difference. Then again, she's never been in someone else's dream before, so she's mostly running on assumptions here.

There's no time to consider that, because a handful of seconds later, the window shatters and the basket drops- and she's shoving past panicky bystanders one and two (and hopefully avoiding glass) so she can lean out the window and reach for him before she can even stop to wonder how any of this is happening.]

Give me your hand!

[For some reason, Jason expects to see Dick instead. Maybe it’s because it’s always Dick in his dreams, but instead he sees Chrissy. He spares one hand from the ledge and reaches up for her. His gloves are slicker in the dream than they would be in real life. As soon as he grips her hand, he can feel himself slipping.]

[Logically, Chrissy knows the odds of being able to haul him up here are slim to none, but that's not going to stop her from trying. It would probably be a lot easier if he wasn't wearing slippery gloves, there's just no time to quibble over wardrobe choices. She can already feel him slipping, and her immediate response is to tighten her grip on his hand.]

[Jason reaches out with his other hand but it swings wildly in the wind. He's slipping out of her grip and knows it. First his palm, then his fingers one by one.]

Fuck!

[And then Dick and Kori are behind Chrissy and Jason tries to shout a warning, but he slides entirely from her grip. His fall comes in slow motion, his arms reaching out for anything to slow his fall.]

[Foolishly, she leans a little further out the window and tries to grab for his other hand, only to come up short.]

No!

[Chrissy is too focused on Jason to even care what the other two are up to right now. If she leans out much further, she'll be in danger of falling too. A rope would be perfect right now, so of course she can't find anything like that.]
