What was that for?

"Sorry," she says - a complete afterthought as she considers the trinket, unraveling its cord off her arm and then trying to raise her leg again to little avail.
"Fuck," she breathes, tone and expression darkening as she steps away. "So that really is...fuckin'--"

He watches as she experiments with the trinket, the gears slowly turning in his brain as he worked it out. Then, after much too long a pause.
"Ohhh, the anomaly must have switched you from chaotic to lawful, I get it!"
Because he's not going to label her switch as being from 'villainous' to 'heroic', because what he'd seen so far was far closer to 'vaguely annoying, but fine' than evil.

He should probably stop making guesses now.
"Well, the nullifier will help with that."
no subject
"No, it's not a help, it's just another layer. More and more fingers in my skull! One to do this, another to undo that. No--" Her lips pull back in a snarl as she coils the cord around her fingers. "No, no, no, this needs to--hm. Hm."
Perhaps...perhaps watching the nullifiers work with the planchette will show some kind of...flow, some directional movement of magic - toward its source.
"...No, the help is...different. And temporary."
In very Brain-of-Pinky-and-the-Brain fashion, Antigone turns away and starts plotting, pacing back and forth.

He knows this is a patch job, covering up the anomaly's effects as much as possible, and that they need to do something about the anomaly itself if they want to complete their mission and guarantee that everyone is free from its effects. Unfortunately, he doesn't even know how to start. He's not great at puzzles or riddles or things that involve a lot of thought in general, but with the way Antigone is pacing, he begins to wonder if she might be able to work it out. He stays quiet for a moment to let her think.

The cackle comes after near two minutes of muttering and quiet mumbling and a bit of fiddling with planchette and nullifier, coupled with two arms thrown up victoriously before drawing back to herself amidst little sinister chuckles that grow joyless and dark.
"Gonna fuckin' get you now...but just to be sure--" She swings around, pointing at Dwayne with one hand while bringing the planchette up to her face with the other. "Take yours off right now! Lemme see!"

"'Kay, now put it back on and try to do something shitty to me! Like really try! Like, like punt me or throw me into the bushes!"
no subject
"I really don't want to throw you, though. I might hurt you."
She's tiny, and there are some things he can't bring himself to do.
"I'll kick you with my boot off, the same as you did to me."
He then proceeds to take off his boot, then goes over and kicks her extremely lightly, because, again, he doesn't want to actually hurt her.

Ears perk up.
"Ah! AH! HA! HAHA! I see it I see it!" Her head swivels, following the strongest path of the glow.

Dwayne starts to follow, then remembers one foot still only has a sock on it.
"Hold on," he says, kneeling down and getting his boot back on.
By the time he stands back up, Antigone is gone. That's fine, he'll just catch up.
((OOC: And I assume we'll just wrap it up here.))
that's a wrap!
Going and gone...to go do some murder.
