NYX is a community engagement center. From early morning to lunch time, the place is managed by Chrissy, while Sophie arrives and stays until all her duties for the day are completed.
NYX offers the following:
- Homemade food (by Etrayans!) served 12PM and 6PM. Those can be eaten in-house, taken home or delivered.
- Fencing & Swordsmanship, by Maelle and Dimitri.
- Ethics (Probably), by Sophie Cuckoo*
* This class may be unorthodox, unethical, and one-sided. Enroll at your own risk.
- Demonics, Mystical Defenses & Sorcery 101, by Illyana Rasputin (Magik).
- Design & Engineering, by Gustave.
- Spare fight uniforms.
- Videogames and an arcade machine.
- A comfy place for gatherings, hangouts, and events.
- To be added.
On the 28th, at the end of usual activities, the lights are dimmed, and a very chill hangout ensues. Feel free to make yourself a drink, alcoholic or otherwise, grab a cushion, sit on the floor or get comfy on the sofa, play a board game, talk to your neighbors, learn who Dua Lipa is, dance a little.
Some relaxing moments, you know?
If your character would like to come check it out, or "works" at NYX, or is just passing by and smells the sweet, sweet aroma of food for grabs and gets in, feel free to top-level! Be merry, use this as you please.

Sophie. [He laughs as he lets himself be hauled up. He puts one foot on the back of the couch but leaves the other one firmly on the cushion.]
If we both go up there, this thing'll topple.
[[ooc: Clive's outfit is more on the casual side of things. Pants, Shirt, Shoes]]

Instead of being smart, and responsible, and grown? She just whispers with a chuckle:)
Coward!!
no subject
Clive does what he can to counterbalance his weight on the couch as he climbs the rest of the way up. He feels a little ridiculous, but Sophie looks so damn happy. He probably couldn't say no if he tried.]
Don't say I didn't warn you.
no subject
Yes, she's superduper happy, and she keeps on dancing until she can't hold his weight anymore, and she puts him down on the floor.)
Ooooh, nooo, you lost. Whatever shall we do now?
no subject
Hmm. That's a good question.
[With a speed some may find startling, Clive grabs Sophie by the waist and lifts her off the couch. She was lighter than he expected, but he can course-correct how much strength he uses pretty quickly. He hefts her over his shoulder and carries her out to the dance floor proper before setting her down.]
Maybe actually dance, you little cheater.
no subject
Little cheater!? No, that was hugely cheating, address me right, nothing I do is little.
(Half-joking, but she's pulling him to dance with her, all good, all good!)

That was the cutest video ever. I watched it three times.

( If her voice is somewhat questioning, that's because she's not sure if that's who she's hearing. Alex winds her way back into the kitchen, amused at the illusion that pops up to point the way. It's a nice sort of useful, an illusion that's not being leveled against anyone. Alex is more used to the ones that are.
Not to mention Protofields. In a way, it's even weirder to keep having none of the familiar elements of her life back home be visible absolutely nowhere here. )
I was thinking of making up a batch of my fizzy apple drink if we found enough apples for me to juice. Do we have a juicer? I thought I saw one.
( She asks as she pops into the kitchen proper. )
no subject
Hi. I'm assuming you're... plushiesidequest? They didn't give me their name. I'm Sophie, yes.
(A hand extends for a handshake, because look at her, she's polite.)
Ah, yes. We do. And apples, I can find them pretty easy, but I don't have them in inventory, but that's easily fixable if you don't mind a quick trip.
no subject
That's me! Sorry, I've been horrible about introductions. I'm Alex.
( She shakes hands with Sophie, more used to it in a business context than any other kind. )
Quick trips work for me. I have my motorcycle now, so I don't mind making runs to anywhere that'd have them — I know there's some fruit at the 7-11, and the market that's... I want to say Korean?
no subject
(No going around about it, it's true, isn't it? But she isn't mad at it, there's a laugh before she gestures to the door Alex just came from.)
For small errands? Amazing, yeah! Since we are going there and I might get some other stuff, so, alright if we take my Maybach?
no subject
Errands or the people wanting a lift, though they'd have to be okay with high speeds. But sure, I'm assuming that's your car? Way better when you need to pick up a whole bunch at once.
no subject
(By short, she means nothing at all. Out they should go! Her TK opens the doors, and as soon as they're in? Enjoy 'Call Me Maybe', piano version.)

"Hello? Chrissy?" Alex heads in early to get a chance to start working on the xiao long bao she'd promised Sophie she'd make, wanting plenty of time to make the dough and get the aspic chilled so it melts like it needs to during steaming.
Regardless of finding Chrissy around immediately or not, she wanders around politely looking into everything up to when she finds the kitchen. Then it's time to check out cabinets, the fridge, and the rest, washing her hands once she's found most of what she needs implement and supply wise, starting with making the pork soup for what's ultimately meant to be aspic. Along with soup. They need a lot of food, right?
"I should be making something vegetarian too... hmm."
board games
Alex has never played the game of 'Life,' but after a quick scan of the rule book and the board itself, she's pretty sure it can't be that hard. How many people does it need to play? She figures one is enough if you're determined, but it's more fun with additional players.
Looking up, she waves to whatever poor soul meets her eyes. "Hey! You should come pick a car and decide if you're going to work right away or take time in college."
She's already parked the black car on the college track. She's done it once for real, shouldn't be hard again in fiction, right?
wildcard
( ooc: she's easy to pull into dancing or into chatting at all, or going back to try and figure out if they can make ice cream for much, much later. hit her up for anything random! or more kitchen help! )

Okay. She's fixing it. With her hands behind her back, she comes towards the wall Maelle is glued to before twirling to have her back against it, gently nudging the redhead with a smile to her lips.)
None of us bite, you know.
no subject
You sure?
[Maelle looks up at her with a small smile.]
no subject
(How old even is this kid again? 15? 16? God, Sophie isn't that great with kids. She literally skipped so many years of life and then died the rest and bam, adult, great for her. She lacks Emma Frost's 'for the children' disposition, it didn't come in her strain of DNA, but between Scott and now Maelle, she's just got to do better, doesn't she?
Okay. No cheating. She's trying to do better, so she'll gently vibecheck Maelle instead of tuning in to her entire thought process as they go. It's a trial.
... But she decided that after already listening in.)
You and me are getting some fresh air, come on.
(Voluntold.)
no subject
I'm not getting kicked out of the club, am I?
[That would be an easy out!]
no subject
(So, she's gesturing, moving first so Maelle can follow, not lead. Seems more comfortable for the kid?)

Depends on the game, but they all pretty much require you to press buttons on this controller. It's what makes your character move.
[He raises it slightly as if to show her, then he presses one of the buttons on there-- which gets his character on screen to throw a fist out.] Seriously never seen anything like this before? Although it is more advanced than the stuff I had back home.
[It's like two blocks running around the screen sometimes...]
no subject
The closest thing I can think of would be... a puppet?
[Maelle laughs, part of it nerves because she doesn't know how to interact with people her age, and part simply because there's so much to learn here it feels endless.]
no subject
[Well... guess it kind of makes sense. He presses a button and his character in the game reacts to it. It just sounds so rudimentary though when put that way! And maybe a little lame. Still, Scott keeps that smile on him for once, before offering the controller over to Maelle.
If he notices that she seems just a little awkward, he doesn't point it out. Maybe because in a way, he's kind of used to it from other teens.]
But why don't you give it a try. It's way better playing the game than just watching someone do it.
no subject
Maelle huffs out a laugh.]
It's... strange. I can't imagine growing up and having this to play with. I'd probably never go outside.
no subject
Here's a tip, when in doubt, just press all the buttons.
[This is bad advice really--] Man, what did you grow up with? Wooden sticks and soccer balls?
