(open) i know the sun will shine tomorrow
WHO: Take your pick of Lois Lane, Clark Kent, Jon Kent, Superman, or Superboy + you!
WHEN: End of August through to September Mission start.
WHERE: Etraya (various locations)
WHAT: A catch-all for running into the Kents, the Supers, or the singular Lane.
NOTES\WARNINGS: Specify which folks you're looking to run into in your subject line!
Do you run into one of them:
1. At the apartments near the Hospital? Find them on the top floor.
2. In the food stores (Kwik Trip, 7-11, Bangtang Market, the bot-run restaurants) scattered throughout Etraya? Snacks are at a premium for some of these guys.
3. On a rooftop somewhere in Etraya. Yes, even Lois.
4. Exploring the Daily Planet. It's the wrong one, but it's also what's here.
5. Down in the Catacombs. Why has part of Paris been recreated here, anyway?
6. Wildcard yourself anywhere in Etraya!

"Silver linings," she says, because it's true enough in her perspective. What she also believes is Jon deserved having his actual parents be around. The ones who knew him. Or at least one of the two people who knew him best.
At the same time, Lois is relieved that the Clark here is who she knows. Having run into Jon was enough of a system shock. Running into Jon and Jon's unsurprised to be a father father would have been strange to the point of actually stymieing her.

"Gotta cope somehow. You met anyone else you know here?" he asks in a casual tone.

Looking between different 'make your own smoothie' selections, she picks out one with more fruit than greens, then heads toward the smoothie making machine. One day it'll feel less like a strangely well stocked post-apocalyptic television series set when she does this. One day.

"Having any luck with the heartwarming bonding exercises retreats are supposed to engender?" she asks, turning her head toward him again. "Because I've been having a hell of a time with the ice breakers myself."
It's a nice, and ultimately pointless dance: Lois is aware there's a contingent of Gothamites who know her beyond the obvious nature of her work at the Daily Planet, know her as someone who is at least in one reality married to Superman and a mother in the usual way of things, and also a contingent who doesn't know those as facts in their particular reality or at their time in their reality. What's more annoying about knowing all that is all she has for any of it boils down to two aliases: 'the Batman' who has been active in Gotham in her time, and 'Dam-Robin,' which is more her reminding Jon if he's going to try to use aliases he really needs to stick to full ones, or Lois is going to remember forever.
So, she holds out her hand for a handshake. "Lois Lane." Smile.

“Jason Todd,” He smiles back as he takes her hand and shakes. “You know, depending on how old your kid is, there might be a few who can keep him company here. I think most of Etraya are adults but there was a mention about a farm for kids to hang out at.”

"Are we collectively trying to get Accelerator to run an afterschool program?"
She looks mildly amused. "Having safe spaces is important. But making sure we're not handing that off to others because it's inconvenient sounds pretty important too."
Also try stopping Jon from flying around, finding Dam-Robin, or any of the multitudinous Bats. It's practically impossible unless she starts running an oppressive pinky-promise regime.

If Damian and Jon haven't met by now, then it quite likely it'll be very soon.

Dame Robin. Damn Robin? Player's choice. She's mimicking Jon's inflection for the unfinished name he'd started.
no subject
"Who?" He asks.
no subject
"Off topic," to cryptic crime fighting child alliances, "But do you have any idea why there's so many cats over in the Nova City region?"

She shoots him a querying look as she heads for the front.
"Has that happened before? Missions leaving a population of some animal or another in the city's bounds?"

She does not say it's good. Lois refrains from shuddering, but just only.
"Definitely not recommending the WcDonalds as being incredible enough to be worth the trip." Or the Snake-Free Zone, trapworthy as it proved to be. Lois had avoided that by the simple merit of not going into an unknown region assuming it'd be fine. Who does that.
(So many people did that. Percy did it for science, which was at least a better answer than, "I didn't think about it." Jon gets a pass for that one. He's ten.)

“Yeah, see that just reinforces my point that we need a functioning Big Belly Burger around here,” he says, amused. “Ideally not on Snake Island too but that might be a big ask to do to Aurora and Echo.”
no subject
Lois isn't particularly yearning for Big Belly, or much of anything in fast food, but if the bones are there, isn't that easier for Aurora to renovate?

Jason trusts them doing basic, simple tasks. Bigger projects though? Maybe not so much.
no subject
Because that's a whole other nightmare of a situation. How was anything built around here in the first place?
no subject
Alas. So much for convenience in construction projects.
no subject
"Still shopping, or done with your convenience store haul for now?"

She snorts, shaking her head as she steps out the door, flashing him a polite if perfunctory smile.
"See you around, Jason."
She'll also see about talking to Aurora...
