1; outside the bubble
[ There aren't many reasons to lurk around the border between Etraya and outside. There isn't a lot to see, except for the very odd tree, a large rock here and there, and also a green guy from time to time wearing a tin can on his head.2; sneaky bot training
--wait now.
It's not really a tin can, but it might as well be. Close to a welders' mask, a particular half-orc takes Aurora-approved trips outside the barrier that keeps everyone safe, to do maintenance on those very innocuous rocks spaced out around different parts outside. Sometimes he has them flipped over, cross-legged and inspecting whatever the interior is inside; or maybe, he's even setting up a new one, and the 'boulder' can be seen standing on otherwise hidden legs, scuttling like a lobster, while Gorgug watches. If it has a head, it can't be seen.
And Gorgug, he doesn't know if he's being seen from the inside. But then, it's pretty weird to be outside, and maybe he will catch if he's being watched.
You know, unless someone wants to call out the weird, 6'7" lanky figure just hanging out around outside. ]
[ Other times, Gorgug is dealing with his projects inside Etraya. One such project is training his sneaky chameleon by going to different parts of Etraya with the 1 foot bot.3; music/dance studio
Most of the time, it's invisible, and it doesn't thrum with motor noise like an electronic creation. But perhaps your character has a sense for magic or unseen beings, or just feels like something is off in that cereal aisle or the Kwik Trip, or they heard something scuttling under their table inside the many cafes.
Or it could even be that you were moving through Nova City, filled as it is with cats, but there seems to be some other presence... a little scurrying thing, usually invisible, but sometimes coming out of invisibility to let it recharge that setting. But coming out at the wrong time, and a glint of something small but animal-shaped catches your attention. Thinking it's being sneaky behind a wall or trash can, but is it? ]
[ Not too far from the hospital is a large boat--a building in the shape of a boat, to be exact, and titled 'the MAXIMUM' on the map on the earpiece. It's probably a weird enough sight whether you know what it is or not, worth checking out, or maybe even making use of its facilities inside: dance rooms on the first floor, an unmanned bar, and music rooms on the second.4; wildcard
And up on the second floor, in the open practice room, is sometimes Gorgug. Some days, he's practising on the drums; others, he's going through the music library available from consoles in the wall, which can be found in a few of the different rooms to play music.
He likes his rock, he likes his emo, and he lets the music play for the most part, a notepad on his knee as he lets it play. Head bopping, his expression inquisitive, thoughtful. Truly, listening to music is serious.
The problem is, the music is set to shuffle at random, and when Gorgug doesn't close the door to the room properly, sometimes the choices sure are choices.
(In Gorgug's defence, he is too confused to change the tracks immediately. What is this.) ]
[ Want to investigate the set of buildings surrounded by a large, golden fence? There might be the sound of quacking coming from the inside, or the sight through the left open gate of Gorgug chasing after a robotic duck in a vest and propeller hat (a sad sight, as he keeps going "Noooo, stop running, come onnn", and doesn't actually speed up to catch it; or he can be found at the junkyard, making a trip out with his blue van to check for any new and useful junk.
Feel free to message me privately if you would like to make plans! ]

[They aren’t paid but that whole budget detail. Also wrecking a friend’s work. His tail sways and he looks around again. He can still feel it. He couldn’t as a human but dragons are more sensitive.]
And if it isn’t ours. Best we both deal with it. Cover magic and science at the same time. :D

...
...he has a lot of random stuff in there, actually. Okay- ]
okay
i got it
ill get my van
[ Magic and science! What a great reason to get his stuff on, his goggles and gloves, and even his device to track his bots-- wait what's that.
There's no message back to Kaeya. Because what happens in the time to takes for Gorgug to get into the city (with a very good visual--Kaeya, you're so big!) is a back and forth with his bot continuing to alert him, but refusing to actually look at a spot. Only dropping him a pin of the location on the map he has, and when that blue van of Gorgug's comes into view for Kaeya, down on the ground...
Gorgug doesn't get too close, stopping it at a distance. They're not too far apart. Gorgug realises what this must mean, sending Kaeya a new comms link: ]
My bot's found something, too. It's somewhere in your area.
[ T-this is some serious stuff! ]

When your opponent is bigger than you they tend to go for your neck. It’s a thing. He shifts and turns in a slow circle. That feeling persists.] Whatever it is. It feels small.
Let’s see if I can get a better pin point. Sky is about to be crowded.
[He leaps and the vast starlit ocean winged dragon beats as the air, circling the van as the sense of the sea fills the air. The scent of it from the salt to the cleanness of the air.
One glowing eye searches about and narrows. Through the coms his voice is deeper, resonant.] It is very small.
[He points with a claw towards the bot.] That way.

He wants to ask if Kaeya's already been in a fight, but the guy is all business. Instead, he sends quick instructions to his bot ('Stay hidden'), knowing it's not for combat. It's still learning how to act and react in most environments, but now won't be a good time for it to try and be daring.
The bot doesn't dare to moving, attempting to stay hidden, camouflaged against the wall it's pressed itself to. It doesn't need to blink, nor breathe. It's juuust a good little bot...!!
Gorgug isn't concerned about it. He holds his axe back, putting it into one hand while he frees up the other, and starts to move it. A murmur, and a glimmer of a purple, holographic outline of a hand appears hovering, follows the motions of Gorgug's own, real limb.
He begins to walk slow steps. Gorgug can't see anything, but he does sense his bot nearby. Once he gets somewhat close to the area, eyes scanning. Unfortunately, he can't use his goggles to try and detect it right now--too many hands occupied.
Gorgug looks back at Kaeya. Are they going in together? ]
no subject
He's ready to support him. A low rumble rolls like the crash of the tide.] Hm. It's very small. Doesn't seem like it is moving. Where is your bot? What does it see?
1/2
...
...He tries slowly turning his holographic hand, pulling it back, aiiiming it to reach his face... and as a result, having it knock him on the nose. No, he's gotta pull back more! And lift it up; alright, alright, now if he just brings his hand down...!! ]

Wah! [ The noise he makes is sudden, a yelp, and Gorgug throws both arms out. His giant axe goes one way, and the holographic hand slaps at a wall before wiggling all around--because it's that arm that something is clinging onto him, scrambling, going up to his shoulders, neck, going around back. ]
GET OFF ME! Get off me!
[ Behold, as Gorgug spins on his toes trying to twist and turn to grab the creature on him.
Or maybe life will be kind and Kaeya got that water shield up all before the creature (read: his own bot) could jump on him, and he may react in a far cooler fashion. ]

He has to adjust his grip on the buildings and he looks like a cat having to course correct. His tail swishes back and forth to keep him from smashing into the street below. His clawed hand grabs for an edge.
None of this is cool.]
no subject
Nobody would be able to tell. Gorgug lets his axe clatter to the ground just to free up his hand, and finally he can reach back better to-- well, pull off his hoodie first, and down to the ground does the assailant clatter to the ground when Gorgug throws the article of clothing. Down back on the floor, it huddles underneath the article of clothing, and Gorgug stumbles on back, breathing hard and quick from the surprise of it all.
He should squish it. Trample it, and the thought is strong inside his head. But there's a beeping, a signal coming from his bot, and Gorgug, both hands now free, pulls down his goggles. Right, now would be a good time to scan--
His bot's signal is right in front of him. Gorgug stares at the information appearing on his goggles, a small window of darkness that shows the bot's visuals, and where is there? Under the ground? Inside the sewers?
... ]
...Chammo?
[ There's nothing for a good few seconds...
...until finally, the huddled figure under the hoodie pokes out its head, metallic and silver, and a small flicking tongue. Gorgug sees himself in his bot's visual connected to his goggles.
And sees a hanging dragon Kaeya in the background, making Gorgug turn. ]
...false alarm.
[ He is trying to make his voice so small over their communication. ]
no subject
Well. Trying to be.] Well. Is Chammo alright or did we accidentally do some damage?
[He doesn’t want to do any harm. He just wanted to know what he sensed.]
no subject
He looks at it, scanning it, but also turning it around. The bot doesn't react much, except wrapping its long tail around Gorgug's wrist, and Gorgug checks its slightly parted mouth last before looking away. ]
--It's okay. It's-- it's just jumpy. [ Jumpy, while it stays as still as a boulder in Gorgug's hold. Gorgug looks at Kaeya now, and with the scanner still on to look for damage: ]
--are you okay? That fall hurt you?
[ It's not a scanner for just bots, but also living things. Not that Gorgug really uses it much. ]
no subject
He watches Chammo then very slowly holds both hands up and gentles his voice.] Hey, I’m not going to hurt you. Even when I tried to grab you. I wasn’t going to do any harm.
I’m a little on edge here but, I investigate problems first. Now I know you’re just here to help. You can count on me as an ally. A sometimes very large one.
no subject
But eventually, he holds out the bot. They're still not moving much, except for its eyes on Kaeya; but, Gorgug tries to follow Kaeya's example. ]
He's my friend -- Kaeya, I told you. You're allowed to... you don't have to be on guard around them. If they need your help, ever, you listen.
Their word is as good as mine. [ ... ] He lets me ride him.
[ The bot hadn't reacted much, not turned to move into Kaeya's hands. But upon he lets me ride him, the bot's tail - extended with only a slight curl - rolls up against itself, and the chameleon bot turns, and then reaches out carefully (leg going out, in, out, oh so careful) to climb into Kaeya's hands.
Where it will fit in both comfortably, not too weighty. Not asking for attention, but deciding this is Good Enough.
(Maybe Gorgug's bots are as awkward as he is...) ]
no subject
And if you ever need a high vantage point, let me know. I’ll carry you where ever you need to go. [He winks. It looks silly with an eyepatch.]
no subject
[ Very important. But as for the bot...
...
They continue to seem entirely unresponsive, until suddenly, abruptly: it darts. Much like a lizard across water, it does as it had with Gorgug and goes to hide behind Kaeya's neck. Burrowing itself there, with only Gorgug's-- ] Whooa---!! [ uselessly sounded, unable to stop him.
It might hurt a little, sorry, Kaeya. It's a metal robot. Gorgug, at least, looks as apologetic as he does lost. ]
I don't know why it does that.
[ Sorry??? Sorry?? He should be better at bots than this!! ]
no subject
[He pulls the tie out of his hair. His long hair falls over new robot friend. He beams.] No harm done.
I did say I would carry them whenever they wanted.
no subject
Thanks. [ That's the kind of thanks one says when they think they should be saying sorry, actually. ] I guess I need to work on its... hiding skills. It's pretty hard-- I thought the cats would be good to test, so I let it out this way.
[ And instead, it found a dragon man. ]
