WHAT: Illyana stepping up to help with contingency option planning. What is magic? Is it good against a Kryptonian? Today in the life of Clark Kent and the problems he did not expect to have, we're going to learn!

( Lois and Clark arrive as planned at a school she's personally not seen before; maybe Clark has in his fly bys, she wouldn't be surprised. It's still a good ten minutes ahead of eight in the morning. Point to punctuality. Lois casts a look around for Illyana, figuring one way or another, she'll find them or they'll find her soon. Considering she just has Clark's description of her to go off, Lois also doesn't actually know who they're looking for. )

[The location isn't new to him, but the view is — everything looks different when he's not seeing it from above. Having done so before made it easier navigate here on time, though, because they could travel the traditional way but why would they? Flying makes punctuality certain.]

Looks like a nice place. This is one of the places taken from someone's world, right?

( Flying is definitely the most punctual. Don't mind Lois smoothing back some of her hair. )

Mmm, should be. Seems most the buildings around here that stand out as coherent individually either showed up with earlier arrivals, or came in sometime after they'd been here. Or was requested.

( She gives him a slightly amused look. )

Apparently that's a thing people can do with the nonsense points we're all earning.

[A moment or two after they arrive, Illyana steps out the front door. No overdramatic soulsword, but that doesn't dampen the rest of her "look" - leathery and goth with odd, spiky armor on her left arm. She raises a hand in greeting, very casual.]

Hey.

[Despite the intensity of her look and the knowledge that she can kick his ass, Clark isn't especially intimidated by her look. Maybe because he already thinks of her as a friend.]

Hey, Illyana. Thanks for meeting with us — I really appreciate it.

( Says Lois, entirely sincere on the other hand. Not a look she can pull off these days (...probably? Lois is not exactly yearning for her punk rock teen days, especially not after Mizz Punkstarr), but hey, she's much more into comfortable or tailored business casual. For the most part. (Look not are her short skirts or at her blank t-shirts. We are all multitudes.)

Stepping forward, she holds out a hand for Illyana if she wants to shake it. Most people seem to around here, but not everyone. )

Thank you, and nice to meet you instead of just surprising you on your earpiece.

[Illyana's smile at the spike compliment is instant, as unexpected as it is. Lois does not look like the alt fashion type, but hey. She knows better than to judge a book by its cover.

She shakes Lois' hand, then wiggles her fingers in a silly little wave at Clark.]

Usually I've got telepaths bugging me more directly, and they don't come with built in ringtones. The earpieces are less weird.

[Having no sense of normal is one of the perks of being a superhero or whatever.]

Mm, probably makes everyone in my life glad I'm not telepathic.

( She says, entirely sincere on that point, even as she steps back so Clark and Illyana are taking central point. This is, after all, first and foremost about the two of them. )

[Clark chuckles and nods — and it's pretty much meant for both Lois and Illyana. Because yeah, her being telepathic would have been a really, really bad thing about three years ago.]

[Since they've already established what a basic zap can do.]

Maybe start simple and work our way up.

Pfft. Humble is boring.

[Illyana waves Lois over, gesturing for her to stand close. After all, if Lois is going to learn magic, a front row seat is a good first step.]

I'm going to put you in a binding spell. It won't hurt, but I want you to try to break out of it. No holding back.

[And then, to Lois:]

( Lois comes to stand right by Illyana, smiling. She breathes out in a laugh at what Illyana says a moment later, shrugging her shoulders. )

I'm good with watching.

( As her boyfriend is in a binding spell. This is (suggestive, sure) levels better than seeing a kryptonite poisoned Clark Kent. )

[That's uh. Hmm. That's a choice of words.

Clark squares up and smiles. He's can do this, he thinks. Even it's humbling, maybe a little embarrassing, it can't be worse than kryptonite. And this could lead to a much better outcome than Lois having to get kryptonite.]
