Don't worry I was kidding. [Cass shoots around the table sinking ball after ball while Ororo gets a drink, her aim and skill in it obvious and she's clearly not trying to hide it. ]

I'd think probably queens or whatever would want some time to escape from real life into a place exactly like this though. [She says once Storm gets her drink.]

Outside of the public eye?

I think that would probably be the case for most anyone, not just queens.

For example, for people with large, adoptive families... I'm sure it's become a habit to escape into a hidden place as well. [ She comes over to join her with a glass of lemon cider in hand. She actually isn't here to drink drink. ]

You're very good. Did you do this often, in your home?

[smallbat]

Maybe. Some people are probably extroverted enough that they don't like the quiet. [She sinks another ball finishing off the table before going to rerack another set.]

Home was really more of a 'throwing things' kind of group. Hence the aim. [She quirks her head to the side a little bit giving Ororo a smile. Surely baterangs count as throwing games or something.]

How about your family?

'Throwing things'... not at each other, I hope? [ She sounds dubious and cautious at the thought of making this assumption. Please say it wasn't throwing things at each other. ]

I had something of a large adopted family myself - some things were thrown, but not often.

[She takes a moment to process that statement and what it might mean. Did she mean actual fighting throwing. That was limited to basically when someone was mind controlled. ]

Not in a negative way, anyways. [Heck Cass even tried to avoid fighting with people when they're mind controlled as she always has to temper her own fighting skills against any of them.]

What sort of things did your family get up to?

Oh, this and that. [ Ororo looks around the pub, finally coming close enough to Cass to lay a hand on the edge of the pool table. ]

We had a recreation room in the old mansion - but when we felt like a night out to drink and unwind, it was to this place exactly. With the billiards table and all.

[Cass's ears perk up at the mansion comment. Not that it's all that weird to her, Wayne Manor and all she's spend enough time there. Although mostly she's bounced from the cave to the clocktower and different apartments.]

Did you wanna join? [She asks offering Ororo her cue, she can grab another one for herself if she takes it.]

Is it weird to have a place from home, or nice?

[agoddessonce]

[ She chuckles and shakes her head, refusing the cue for now. ] Oh, no thank you. It's a game I prefer to watch, rather than play. I think you'd clear the table well before I could. [ She's not good at it! ]

It is a bit of both, if you can imagine how that feels? The familiarity is nice, but I'm used to seeing more people here. [ Her expression turns nostalgic and distant, tracing a finger over her glass of cider. ]

It's very quiet when it shouldn't be.

Are you one of those people where everything feels loud when it's too quiet? [She asks, it's probably a bit too blunt of a question but social skills aren't exactly her strong suit. She sets down her cue and goes to rack the balls again then.]

Sometimes I like the quiet, some of my family can be a lot.

[agoddessonce]

That's an interesting way of putting it. [ Not wrong, either, since Ororo thinks it pretty accurate. She just nods. ]

I enjoy the quiet too; it gives me time and space to think. But sometimes I need people to help me think-- and family usually helps with that, whether I realize I need the help or not.

[Cass thinks about it for a moment. Remembering the time when she couldn't understand what anyone was saying and how loud everything was. She's not sure she'd ever be annoyed by quiet in any way.]

Do you have any of them here? [She starts to shoot around again, breaking the newly racked balls.]

Yes - a few of them - but they are the less noisy ones. [ A small blessing, that! She got along perfectly well with Jean, and though she and Scott didn't always see eye to eye, their arguments were never anything explosive. ]

And you? Who of your family are here?

[smallbat]

My siblings are here. [She says with a shrug. In one way or another from different time periods. Of course the Bruce here who she still hasn't met isn't actually from home so that's a little different.]

I am the less noisy one at home.

Then we'll get along just fine, I would hope. [ Usually the less noisy ones could simply be in the same space in relative silence without issue. ]

There are no rules to this place, however. If you wanted to tuck into one of the booths with a book without drinking anything or using the pool table, you can do that as well.

[Cass shoots another ball before looking up at Ororo a hint of surprise on her face. ]

Did you just give me permission to come somewhere I've already made myself at home yet? [A grin crosses her lips as she tilts her head to the side a little bit.]

[ Oh, she's got Ororo there. But it's hard not to be a little possessive of this place, so she can't quite return the grin. Instead she looks around the walls that are still familiar. Glances back down at the pool table she never used much herself, but knew where to lean on so it wouldn't creak. ]

Something like that. Or perhaps you could simply consider it an invitation, if you need a quiet place.
