WHAT: Jason and Bruce run into some familiar shadows

[The fog is dense in most places, dense enough that Jason can hardly see through it. He has most of his uniform on, except for his still-plastered left arm. He feels entirely too vulnerable without the use of both of his arms, but he doesn't have a choice. They have to keep moving in order to progress.

It's when Jason sees a familiar silhouette in the fog that this mission derails. He can make out the tall, thin figure, the slicked back blonde hair, and his heart stops in his chest. For a moment he simply stares back, as if daring the shadowed figure to come closer.

And it seems his silence does just that. The figure steps closer and asks, "What's the matter, Jason?"

Jason is breathless as he replies with a quiet,] Bruce.

( he stays relatively close by jason — doesn't let him out of his sight for more than a couple seconds when he looks around their environment and that's... when jason says something. at first, he looks over. confused. he knows hw shouldn't be calling him that when he's batman. but then he comes to realize he's not addressing him but, instead, someone else.

for a moment, he thinks it to be the older version of himself here and he flinches with anger for a moment as he comes up close to jason. he doesn't reach for anything — not yet anyways. but he's there and he's ready and he's staring into the fog where jason is. )

What is it?

[Jason stares as he's frozen in place, as the apparition seems to step up from the fog. He's dressed in a slim-fitted dress suit, hands in his pockets as he regards Jason.]

I thought I told you you would never be Robin again.

[Jason shakes his head and finally moves toward the figure.]

I can do it. I told you I could do it.

[batsymbol]

( it takes him a moment to realize what's going on — who it is he's really talking to, but. when he does, he comes to stand a little closer to the boy then. protective in his stance. when jason goes to move, however, he reaches out to take hold of his [good] arm. )

Jason. This isn't real.

[Jason looks back at Bruce before he tries to tear his arm away. The blonde Bruce paces through the fog. ”It was a mistake to call you my son.”

That sets something off in Jason, something sinister deep inside him as he tries to surge toward the figure.]
