[Open-ish] So what'd I miss~?

WHERE: Various locations in Etraya
WHAT: Someone comes back after a vacation of sorts alongside Etraya's pets

After Mission 11 ends, various purple portals open up throughout Etraya. Pets and others animals emerge from these portals and are returned to their proper places. Meanwhile, one purple portal opens up near the Tower of Justice and a bat of a different kind has returned.

Kirk isn't ready to be relieved yet through. He wants to assess first how Etraya is after what sounded like an intense mission.

He's prioritizing the Tower of Justice and any other places where his friends may be to check on them first. But it's possible for others to also catch him while he's flying on the way.

Soon enough the trolley stop is within view.

"Have most of the vampires you've met been friendly?" Kirk asks.

[will_chase_balls]

"I haven't met any unfriendly ones, so...all of them."

Of course, that could be selection bias. All the vampires he'd met were priests of the Blood of Vol, so unlikely to be unfriendly to one of the parishioners. He heads up to the trolley stop and waits for it to arrive.

A corner of Kirk's lip quirks, recognizing the possible selection bias.

"The Blood of Vol sounds nice at least," he says.

"It is," he confirms as the trolley pulls up in front of him and he gets on.

Kirk climbs aboard with Dwayne. Again, he finds himself envious that an organization like the Blood of Vol exists.

"Has it been around long?"

[will_chase_balls]

"Over a thousand years."

So Dwayne would consider that quite long.

[godsandbats]

"So much time for vampires and humans to have built mutually beneficial relationships then," Kirk muses, still envious. "Seems like it would be nice to visit one day."

[will_chase_balls]

"Yeah. I'd be glad to have you as a guest if there's any way you can visit."

He could take him to see the temple and show him the Karrnwood. It would be great!

"This is our stop," he says as they reach the Farway stop, standing up and disembarking once the doors slid open.

He looks around once he steps outside. The land is now dotted with craters, each one with it's own little mini-ecosystem. This place isn't as dangerous as it was before. Without new craters constantly forming, the risk of being spliced and mutated was gone. That said, there had been plenty of dangerous creatures created and brought here through this event, so they couldn't afford to let their guard down.

Kirk steps off the trolley with Dwayne and frowns as he looks at the scene before them.

"Quite the redecorating the last mission did," he says. "They essentially stopped?"

"Yeah. When this was happening, there was a new one every few seconds. The only place safe from them that I saw was the...Lois called it a 'Bounce Castle', I think? Anyway, if this was going on you'd see the new ones. And believe me, you do not want to get caught in them when a new one appears."

"No, I imagine gene splicing like this isn't pleasant," Kirk agrees, though the mention of a bounce castle makes him raise an eyebrow underneath his helmet. "A bounce castle is surprising."

"It's not." Then he decides to clarify. "Uh...part of my arm got caught in one of the things. It turned into mushrooms. Lucky for me, it went back to normal later, because I don't want any of me being mushrooms."

Sure, there may have been a weremushroom in Etraya, and he probably loved being what he is, but Dwayne is much happier being part wolf than part mushroom.

"At that point, I honestly wasn't questioning anything. Be careful around the holes, though. The stuff in them is probably still there, and a couple of the things that turned up tried to eat me."

Kirk keeps his distance as he observes the craters.

"What tried to eat you?" He calmly asks.

"Well...there was a weird kelp-y water horse thing that I was briefly stuck to, but pulled away from. Then there was this lizard-bird thing, but that ended up spliced with a tree, so that's taken care of. There could definitely be other dangerous things here, though."

Dwayne peers down one crater that seems to have a lot of water in it and several things moving beneath the surface.

Kirk also peers down with Dwayne, though he's ready to jump back if needed.

"Wouldn't be surprising if there were still some things lingering around," he says.

"I'd assume that there are. I can see something moving in the water, so I'd expect the rest of the creatures to still be here somewhere."
