Raz (also Clarke is tagging along with him)

["Raz," they called him, the person who's been here for six years. Natsuno doesn't want to out himself as the person who sent the morse code to Moorecroft, but surely just asking around about veteran residents isn't weird. Their mission is to blend in, so it makes sense to ask for advice, right?

So there he is, with Clarke in tow, inclining his head politely.]

Hi, Raz? We heard you've been here for a while. Mind if we ask some questions?

( natsuno had pioneered the morse code communication with moorecroft in the first place, and clarke allows him to pioneer this approach. she follows a step behind and hovers at his left shoulder as, but when faced with that feels like the beginning of an attempt to divert them: )

We're not really interested in a spiel. Especially not one that's been well practiced and is probably meant to put people at ease, you know?
neverleave: (lurking as one would like a creep)

[Natsuno returns the look, calm as ever. No point in beating around the bush with this guy, which is fine by him. As long as Raz doesn't tell them off, he'll ask directly.

(And if he does tell them off, Natsuno's sure Clarke Griffin will have captial-O Opinions about it)]

Is this how the set's always been? With the fake families and jobs between fighting each other? [They've heard the gossip about "Theo" and the murder game. It was disgusting.] We heard the curfew was caused by an "incident." So we're wondering how it was before. What else could be coming.

[Raz has been here for six years. Last of his batch, if they understood correctly. Maybe he knows something the others don't.]

( with raz's eyes diverted elsewhere, clarke doesn't fight the urge to give natsuno A Look. through the barrier, he'd just said. floaters, he'd said. and she's suddenly got a very vivid mental image of what that historical bubble-prison break must have looked like, sucked into the vacuum of space. quick and relatively quiet. most've us, he'd said. )

And you were here when all that happened? How'd you survive, when the ( barrier fell ) bubble popped.

( ... )

How long have you been under this curfew?

[He returns Clarke's look. She thinks about floaters and airlocks, while Natsuno thinks these barriers sound surprisingly flimsy. Maybe an oversight on Eos' part; he wonders what else she and Aurora are missing.

The hospital seems to have extra protection. Is the one on Etraya the same? It'd make sense, since this is where people are first brought to. The core of the bubble, equipped while the rest of the city was still under construction.

He nods at Raz's answer, and doesn't push the topic of curfew. He just thought about something more urget.]

So the jobs are to keep everyone too busy to mess things up. But that doesn't explain why the curfew. I hear noises and scratches during the night... did something get in when the bubble popped?
