NOTES\WARNINGS: Gambling themes, mild violence and injury potential
 ⏵ build-up to the race ⏴ Aurora has organized a competitive event, unlike missions past: an all-out build-and-race derby! This mission is all about working together (or against each other) to design, construct, and customize your ride! Show some creativity, and gain a few extra points maybe - or show some grit, and get bonus points that way! Don't worry, there's always an edge of rivalry: a few twists and tricks await to keep everyone on their toes! As of November 8th, a temporary garage has been set up close to the hospital, with bays for each team. The team assignments are: TEAM ONE Dazai, Hernan Guerra, Chrollo, Vincent TEAM TWO Katsuki Bakugo, Damian Wayne (Robin), Vash the Stampede, Barnabas Tharmr TEAM THREE John Reese, Harold Finch, Chrissy Cunningham, Sam Carpenter TEAM FOUR Castiel, Dean Winchester, Junior, Kyra Vashenko-Chao TEAM FIVE Manny, Shanks, Monkey D. Luffy, Loki TEAM SIX Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, Yuri Leclerc, 6, 37 TEAM SEVEN Cloud Strife, Rufus Shinra, Sleeper, Asano Rin TEAM EIGHT Deku Midoriya, Cid Telamon, Jason Todd, Gorgug Thistlespring TEAM NINE Accelerator, Timothy Drake, Trafalgar Law, Vax'ildan TEAM TEN Octavia Blake, Mal Durrish, Wanda Maximoff, Rosie Each bay is labeled with the names of those in each team, but the plaque where the team's name would be remains blank. Instead, a marker resides beside the placard: teams must choose their name, and add it themselves. Within each bay are all the parts needed to put together a vehicle on one's own. Parts and tools are clearly labeled, and a few instruction manuals for numerous different kinds of vehicles are lying about. Each team is welcome to dive right in, but there's also a twist: special parts are available - but you have to earn them! Several Companion Bots have set up shop just outside the garage, ready to hand out everything from turbo boosters to reinforced tires. However, every special part can't be bought but has to be earned. Want a top-notch engine? Maybe a late-night group watch for any shooting stars will earn you one. Want some wicked cool brakes that make handling those curves in the road significantly easier? Maybe you and a teammate will get sent on a fun scavenger hunt for special stones scattered throughout Etraya - or maybe they'll have to commit a prank on another team to get it. Sign-ups for special parts can be found HERE - let us know what your team is looking for (shielding, brakes, tires, etc) and we'll give you a task for their team to complete to earn it! Need some direction? The Companion Bots are happy to lend a hand, even if they aren't able to directly interfere! Decorate not just your vehicles, but also the bay assigned to your team. There's plenty of paint, spare parts, and props! While Aurora and the Companion Bots provide the essential parts, it's up to the teams themselves to put together their vehicles - so have fun building! Complete mini-missions for additional, special parts, which may also assist your team in winning the race itself. Or one can always sabotage other teams in order to raise their chances of winning. The world is your oyster - have fun with it!  ⏵ you bet! ⏴ Not everyone is up for hands-on work; those that either choose to put their focus elsewhere, or maybe in addition to participating in the race, can also choose to participate in betting rounds. Set up in Harry's Hideaway Pub, a couple of the Companion Bots have set up a mini-casino, equipped with screens keeping an eye on the outside of the bays and facing the tracks that have yet to be completed. Here, you can place your bets on which team will finish their build first, who will get the best parts, and which car will have the most flair - or perhaps which will fall apart first once they're out on the track. The currency used here? The points one earns for participating in the world of Etraya and previous missions. Put down five, and earn back ten for being correct - or lose out on what you've given, if it goes that way. This is part one of our race mission! ( whether religious or some kind of moral support. she hadn't really tried to comfort him per say, beyond the usual apologies because she felt it wasn't her place to do so.
still, she isn't going to confront vincent much more about his religious ideas here- unless he pushed the topic and she needed to put him in his place. for now she followed suit, cutting up one of the pieces of cardboard as a badge as he went along with his own piece. )
I guess? Samil just said he generally doesn't hurt people if he can avoid it...apparently he baited Hannibal into stabbing him and then he told me if someone stabs me, always stab them back.
I guess Hannibal is a cannibal or something, I don't see why he had to feed him to us otherwise aside from it being a weird fetish too.

His jaw works back and forth absentmindedly as he cuts another lopsided circle. He scrunches his face up and sighs. ] Honestly, drawing ritual circles is much easier than this task. [ He pauses to scratch his eyebrow with the end of the marker. ] Maybe it's something to do with repetition.
[ He lifts one shoulder. ] Isn't that anyone? Anyone normal, I mean. [ A beat. ] Anyway, what a strange series of events. One could say that was his own fault, hm? [ But hm. ] Can we call him a cannibal? I mean, Samil isn't a human, right? Just half-human.
vincent being a jerk? *gasp*
yet the mood was far from being jovial. they were discussing a serious topic at hand, and while she played along for the sake of trying to work together to keep their world safe, things were becoming difficult and tenuous for her.
it was then when he spoke and seemed to blame samil, that her expression became tense and she stopped her own work. )
Are you blaming Samil for what happened? and who cares what he is, he still has a human side. We were fed flesh from someone who can think, breathe, feel emotions. That doesn't bother you at all?
( she had her own theories and thoughts on hannibal, and while it was true that she couldn't quite confirm his preference for human meat, she felt something was off about him. )

[ Vincent doesn't stop working even though Heather has. He sets another poorly-made badge to the side before he picks up the cardboard to start cutting circles in it. ]
I think it'll be faster if I just make the circles first instead of stopping each time to decorate. [ While he may be talking mostly to himself, he shares his thought process with Heather all the same. The sound of cardboard being cut fills the silence as he thinks about his answer. ]
I already told you it bothers me, but I find the implications and meaning behind the actions to be much more significant than the fact we ate someone. [ He frowns as he holds up the skeleton that's left of the cardboard - it has a lot of holes in it and none of them are uniform. ]
Ah, well. [ He tosses the piece to the side and picks up a circle instead. ]

( regardless of who started what, and what the end result ended up being, heather didn't feel like blaming that man for what happened to him. no one deserved to be murdered and have their body served to others without their consent.
whatever theories vincent had and the implications behind it should be left aside. yet as they sat here and spoke, heather couldn't help but realize maybe she cared more about this than she should because of something else that had happened-
still fresh on her mind, the death of her father. with a soft sigh, she shook her head, deciding it was best to just let this go. she wasn't going to get anywhere with vincent it seemed. )
Maybe you should have used some math to calculate the amount of circles you can get out of this?
( idly, she picked up the piece he tossed to the side, taking a look at it. )

[ In the back of his throat, he has a few things that he wants to say. But the words stick there rather than come out. Objectively speaking, he's quite sane; he's remained sane despite everything. It's some wisdom that he wants to impart to her, but judging by her expression, she isn't ready to hear it. ]
Maybe I should.
[ He chimes in response as he looks at the piece that he discarded that she's holding. Clicking his tongue, he thinks maybe one more could be made. Is she being serious? Probably not. Looking for a way to switch topics? Most likely.
But he thinks it's best to carry on like he knows nothing, even though she knows better. ]

( she shook her head a bit as she observed the discarded piece, spotting a small spot where she could cut around to make a circle. she reached for the scissors once more and got to work. unlike vincent, she mostly kept her expression still before returning back to what he had been saying. )
Sane or not, that's all the information I could really gather. I think I'm going to try speaking to Hannibal myself-
and don't worry. I'm not stupid enough to outright ask him if he's into eating people or not. I actually wanted to ask him about that painting he has...

who knew what her rage might prompt her to do. she tried to think of herself as someone level headed but even claudia managed to bring out the worst in her. )
I'm not really sure...he does seem otherworldly.
( truthfully she was afraid of him. when she ran into him at the party, all it took was a glance from his cold and calculating eyes and she was frozen to the spot. he reminded her of vincent, of the order, and worst of all of all the monsters that creeped around in the other world. yet she was strong enough to have spoken to him and now possibly seek him out once more. )
Lida and the swan. You saw it too, didn't you? I know it's suppose to be romantic or maybe not considering what Zeus did to some of those women but.....to me it almost seemed like a warning.
Like....the person who owns it may just devour you up.

Yes, I did. [ Vincent does tip his head up, rolling his eyes around, to indicate that he's searching his memory. It's drama where there doesn't need to be any. His head drops back down as he continues to work. ] Does that worry you?
Well, he did say that he eats all the rabbits that he catches. [ Holding the badge up, he tilts it to the side. ] I consider that a relief, though. Said so as much to him, too. Not sure how he took it, but -- [ The corner of his lip curls down in a frown. ]

Still, he does hope Hannibal tests Heather. Morbid curiosity gets the better of him if she will let herself fall back into being Alessa. He draws a little smiley face underneath his encouraging words.

He shifts to look at what she's done. ]

First of all, don't ever say the word 'cutie' again. Secondly, I said what I said. You think we're some kind of divided force but I am her, and she is me.
( she rose up from her seat, her hands resting on the table as she gave him a stern look. )

He holds his hands up immediately - dropping both badge and pen - in an attempt to soothe hurt feelings. ]
Right - right. [ Vincent does pause to see the marker did leave a red line on his pants when he dropped it unceremoniously, but keeps his hands raised. ] I got it. I got it. [ He repeats himself over and over, but it seems to be the right thing to do.
As nonchalant as his thoughts may be, he does have some level of fear.
He isn't completely psychotic or suicidal. However, Heather - Alessa - are and is a teenage girl. She wants to live that way and so, there is a level of safety in that, too. ]

in that she was now viewing him in a rather mocking manner. the way the marker fell and stained his pants, the way he relented to her requests. it was rather amusing having the upper hand for once [in her mind at least].
to his question though, all she could do was scoff and wave her hand. )
I think I'll pass. I should get going, I have free drinks waiting for me at the pub anyways.

Not sure if you wanted me to tell you that you shouldn't, but -- [ Shaking his head, he continues: ] -- make a few more friends. The people here are surprisingly friendly even if I don't like any of them.

( she had to get in a lick too, she supposed. it was then that heather finally began to walk off, wondering if anything else would come of their investigations or of hannibal. )

His personality might be rotten, but he's aware of it. There isn't any happiness that comes from liking or accepting oneself, though.
His mouth twists into a nasty smile as he starts drawing another rabbit on a new badge.
