[OPEN] Boooorn to be wiiiild~

WHO: Jason Todd and you!
WHEN: Late February, shortly after Mission 007 ended
WHERE: Nova City and maybe various other locations in Etraya too
WHAT: A man and his motorcycle
NOTES\WARNINGS: N/A for now. Will update this if something comes along

It’s another beautiful day in Etraya. The sun is shining, the Quantum Rail is gone, aaaand depending on where you are, you might hear the roar of a motorcycle.

1) Vroom Vroom:

If you’re in Nova City, you might see a man wearing a brown biker jacket and a red motorcycle helmet riding a red motorcycle. He’s not doing a casual ride though. He’s taking full advantage of the urban environment by practicing his stunts. Drifts, wheelies, jumps, you name it and he’s practicing it. Come and safely enough the show.

2) Long Ride:

Alternatively, Jason could be taking his motorcycle out for a long ride around Etraya. Checking to see what’s changed and what’s still around is as good of an excuse as any. It’s been a while since he got to enjoy a ride. He might even be trying to ride along the new trolley for fun.

Come flag him down or talk to him when he does rest stop.

"Must've been a hell of a bad guy," Jason says. Even though he doesn't kill anymore, there's only so much judging he can do given his body count. Plus, unlike his adoptive father, Jason's more willing to consider different nuances and differen circumstances for why such a thing would happen.

Fabian shrugs.

"He wasn't all that powerful, really." Maybe if he thought about this a little harder, he would have tried to word this differently, just to make him killing the guy sound a little bit cooler.. But, you know, there's enough to think about in this moment. This part of it is not even crossing Fabian's mind.

"But he was part of a plot to try and put the entire place in control of an evil dragon, so.." His voice trails off, like he's figuring Jason will catch on. It was necessary, clearly! "But I certainly do not mind getting a great ride out of it!"

Fabian pats the seat of his own motorcycle as he says it, and right after there's.. a different voice, weirdly enough. Fabian's mouth is not open, so it doesn't seem to be coming from him? It sounds weirdly demonic, though..

"Sire, your compliments are too much for me! I merely exist to serve you in the destruction of all those who would stand against you!"

Well that wasn't expected. Jason stares at the motorcycle.

"Did it just talk?"

"Oh." That's a very casual oh. Apparently this thing talking is no surprise at all to Fabian. He turns to look at his bike for a moment, but then turns his gaze back towards Jason.

"Yes, of course. There is a hellhound possessing the motorcycle. He can also drive by himself, so there is very little I have to do if I don't feel like it."

"Hellhound," Jason repeats. "Must make for a great security system for the bike too."

Maybe it's the adrenaline junkie in him but he almost wants to touch the motorcycle to see what happens.

Fabian laughs.

"The Hangman would love to get a chance to actually be a security system, it's true!"

Yes, he's laughing about how much his demon bike loves to murder. Sorry, Jason, the world Fabian comes from is just a little bit.. special...

But there is ample opportunity to touch the bike if the other wants! It's just standing there..

"I always take him into battle back home. It's slightly more difficult here, since we don't really have any traditional battles here, but-- we make do."

"Battles? You guys were in the middle of a war or something?" Jason asks, curious. He does find that taking a motorcycle to a fight can be a lot of fun sometimes. Most of his experience lies more with high speed chases with gunfire.

"Well, a war might be a big word.." He shrugs a little bit though, like even the idea of a war isn't all that wild to Fabian. He certainly doesn't look startled over it!

"I am an adventurer, you know? And unlike most other adventuring parties who deal with small matters, me and my friends have saved the world at least three separate times now-- and it feels like we are currently working on a fourth!"

Just a normal thing. Fabian does sound a little prideful as he describes it, but it doesn't sound like he's describing something extraordinary either. It's just a regular Tuesday for him at this point.

"And of course I couldn't leave the Hangman out of that. He'd get sad!"

"Hell of a team you guys must be," Jason says. "What kind of stuff would adventuring parties normally deal with?"

He can't help but think it sounds like something out of fantasy novels, minus the mention of a hellhound motorcycle.

The guy hums, before answering: "Anything?"

Mostly because he isn't really sure what answer Jason is looking for here. It depends a whole lot on what the other is used to, after all. Fabian has learned in this place that other worlds sure tend to be a whole lot different from his own, so..

"What sort of threats do you have where you come from?"

That might be a good point of comparison right there, he figures.

"Costumed, gimmicky supervillains," Jason replies. "There's a wide range. From taking over the world, bank heists, ransoms, to dumber things like trying to rob a bank while being a kite-themed criminal."

God, Gotham is weird.

It's definitely objectively weird - yet Fabian doesn't look very weirded out by this information at all. He just nods, like he's taking in a very normal fact over here.

"In my world it would be something more along the lines of-- You know, dragons."

Yes, he is saying this like it's a very normal thing, despite it clearly not sounding like one of the threats from Jason's world that the other is describing.

"Dragons that are trying to take over the world. Or gods that are attempting to destroy it. That sort of thing is what my party has dealt with in the past."

"That happens regularly?" Jason asks casually. His world has had plenty of incidents where someone was trying to take over the planet. It doesn't really phase him at this point. "Hope you got paid decently for it."

"Oh, multiple times a year."

.. yeah, definitely a regular thing. And with Jason talking about it so casually too, it really sounds like the two young men are discussing something totally normal. You know, rather than the rest of the world.

"And we don't get paid for it yet. Regular adventurers do, but-- well, we're still in school. I don't know how it's us that keep on saving the world. I suppose it's just that the adults are too incompetent." Fabian shrugs. "Are things like that where you come from too?"

Do you also know some incompetent adults, Jason...

It depends on one's definition of incompetent...

"I don't know about my world having a lot of adventurers but there are a lot of idiots or people who just don't care," Jason says, rolling his eyes. It certainly doesn't help he lives in what's arguably one of the roughest cities in the country.

Well, that sounds familiar enough to Fabian. Familiar enough for him to ask: "And most of those people tend to be older than you, yes?"

Because Fabian sure has had a whole lot of people his own age trying to help, but.. a lot of the adults are so useless. Especially his mother's new boyfriend. Definitely the worst of the lot!

"Sometimes it is just crazy to me that they don't know how to deal with even the slightest situation."

"Right? It's crazy," Jason says. "Plenty of people who are experienced enough to know better and yet, somehow, some way, the ball gets dropped. Back home, we got an insane asylum and it's almost a joke how often there's an escape."

He frowns - partially out of sympathy for that situation, but also because the concept is a little confusing to him.

"Do they not have guards there?"

Sure, Fabian also escaped jail. But he would like to say that's just because he is that great. (Even though he didn't manage to get himself out of there, it was only through external help..)

"In theory, yes," Jason replies dryly. "In practice, you either got a bunch of corrupt ones or ones not good enough to hold the kind of people that wind up in Arkham."

Honestly, it was sometimes exhausting monitoring who broke out again.

"Honestly, it mostly sounds like your world has a severe lack of qualified people."

He's kind of talking about it the way your average rich person might talk about not being able to find the right kind of personnel to take care of their house anymore these days.. Fabian's weird pompous accent really does not help with that impression either.

"Don't they ought to do something about that?"

Jason snorts.

"They try but it's annoying when you have to somehow try to outnumber the corruption too."
