[semi-closed] Garreg Mach Move-In
WHO: Yuri Leclerc
wolfish, Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
hauntedsnowfall, An Zhe
hyphanated Clive Rosfield
heroofhopeless, and Joshua Rosfield
ablazinggrace. Also Clive's visitors, possibly.
WHEN: Late June - early July
WHERE: Garreg Mach monastery
WHAT: New residents moving in!
NOTES\WARNINGS: Not at the moment, will update as needed.
[ Garreg Mach is a great, sprawling complex that might sooner bring to mind a castle than a monastery. Nestled among mountain peaks, its white stone towers strike up towards the sky whilst its thick walls serve as looming fortification for its residents. Within these walls lie a great many facilities in place for its residents, clearly built to provide for clergy and guests alike.
In Fódlan, Garreg Mach hosted an Officer's Academy. Now the classrooms remain empty, the training facilities far in excess of what a scant few individuals could have need of. It boasts a greenhouse full of plants which require its shelter to flourish, including the occasional little mushroom, which seems to have a tiny house stationed under a great, towering flower. The gardens are well-kept, stray cats range about the grounds, and chocobos occupy some of the stables. Most of the dormitories remain unoccupied, but it's clear a few are lived-in, just as it's clear that some effort has been made to maintain the grounds, including the great cathedral at the monastery's heart.
There is also a pond teeming with fish of various sizes and species. There are perhaps too many. Someone should really get on that... ]

But he does calmly trot over to pick it up once it lands.]
—This is it. [His bear! Sopping wet but intact! He lifts it up, sniffs it, then holds it out at arm's length.]
...It smells like fish...
no subject
Give it here, I'll fix it up.
[ He doesn't doubt that he can get rid of the odor. ]
no subject
By washing it?
[That's how you normally get rid of a smell, right?]
no subject
I'll give it a wash. For starters, though...
[ He first casts the cleansing spell Marianne had taught him to contend with his allergies. So far as he's seen, it leeches foreign matter out of all kinds of things. Sure enough, the shimmering light of the spell takes stains with it when it vanishes.
Afterward, Yuri continues his inspection with a hum. ]
I can make it smell like flowers or spices too, if you like that sort of thing.
no subject
I do. Do you use magic for that, too?

[ He passes the bear to one hand and fishes something out of his fitted jacket. What he offers to An Zhe is a small pouch with its opening knotted shut. It smells of flowers and spices, the sort one might associate with baked sweets. ]
It's easy to make things like this, or get those aromas into fabric, if you know what you're doing.
no subject
Do people often use things like this? ...It seems like it would be nice to smell like flowers all the time.
[Maybe he could try making his own?]
no subject
[ He says this casually, but he sees the interest, and so— ]
Want me to show you how it's done?
no subject
Could you? I'd appreciate your help. Do you think people would like receiving them?
no subject
[ It's pretty straightforward and An Zhe has that knack for picking up things he observes. Yuri has no doubt he can manage.
He'll just go right ahead and hand off the little sachet to An Zhe before he gestures for him to follow. ]
