Kids only, fools

WHO: Damian as Robin (brat), Accelerator (levelshift), and any kids in Etraya! No adults allowed (except Willa because she owns the place).
WHEN: End of June, post-mission 3.
WHERE: Ramsey Farm.
WHAT: A head count and meet and greet for all the kids 15 and under. Adults enter at their own risk.

[Ramsey Farm! It's a cute, quaint little area that Robin and Accelerator have temporarily decided on for their plans to support the kids that are stuck here in Etraya. The area is welcoming, with a cozy farmhouse surrounded by flowers and a chicken coop and a vegetable garden out back. A little goat can also be found wandering around.

Come meet your fellow children, come hassle these nerds who are trying to kid wrangle, or come pet one very large fluffy boy named Goliath.]

[ Asuka actually laughs aloud. ]

You know what? That's not a bad idea. I'll try that next time. How's that usually work?

It doesn't always stop them from talking, but at least they'll have a better reason to complain.

[ Asuka snickers. ]

Well, that's true.

[ She flashes a little grin. ]

I'm definitely give that a try next time. What's your name?

[shoplifter]

I'm Laura.

[... Should she say something else?

She has no clue how social conversations are supposed to go.]

Uh. Asuka. I'm Asuka.

[ She isn't quite sure what to say either. ]

Did you just come over here because of the message?

[shoplifter]

[She nods.]

... The people in charge are — friends.

[At least, she hopes that they would consider her a friend. With her hands sliding into her pockets, she looks... a little self-conscious.]

I'm not very good at being with friends, though.

I don't know what to do.

[Should it come naturally to her, or is she broken like a vending machine? She's not very sure, which worries her more than she would like to let on. She wants to make a 'good' impression with her peers.]

[ Asuka agrees with that after a moment, not sure she can disagree. It isn't as if she's been good at having friends herself, after all. ]

Just hang out with 'em. Do something fun.

They are very weird.

[But not bad. Friends feel good, even if they're strange.

Maybe she's just much more strange than them, anyway.]

...I dunno. I used to... play video games or just go hang out or something. At least when I had friends, anyway.

[ She shrugs. ]

Nothing else to say about it, you know? Right now I don't know if I even have any.

[shoplifter]

[Video games? That sounds interesting. She likes games.

But she'll look into that later.]

You could make some here. There are enough people for it.

Maybe I don't want to.

[ Someone is a little petulant. ]

[shoplifter]

You would rather be alone?

[That's an interesting concept. She'd spent too much of her life struggling to not be so alone, she couldn't really imagine wanting the opposite.]

...sometimes, sure.

[ Not all the time, maybe. But a lot of the time. ]

Doesn't everyone?

[shoplifter]

... Maybe.

It depends on what you think 'alone' means.

I think I was always alone, but never alone.

[It's very confusing.]

[ She laughs humorlessly. ]

...that's not a bad way to say it, I guess. [ She knows the feeling. ]

Does that mean you don't want them?

Friends.

[Laura would respect that. But she also wouldn't mind having more friends, so... it would be nice to be sure than sorry.]

[ Well, that's honest at least. ]

Weird is not always bad.

If you need a friend later, you can say I'm your friend. I think I like having them.
