A Clash of Eikons - Semi-Open
WHO: Odin (Barnabas + Sleipnir), Bahamut (Dion), and YOU(?)
WHEN: 7/5 midday
WHERE: The expanse of Ochreward
WHAT: Just a couple of magical kaiju having themselves a lil duel
NOTES\WARNINGS: Mild magical violence, will update as needed
To the northern reaches of Etraya's bubble there is a long strip of land that is otherwise uninhabited. Ochreward is its name, and today it will serve as the battlefield for two giant Eikons. While their chosen arena should provide them ample area for this clash of theirs, that does not mean others would not see the towering forms of these magical beings as they bring sword and claw to one another. Their considerable size of over hundred feet would serve to earn them notice alone, but Bahamut's impressive wingspan that reaches twelve fold their height only encourages would-be onlookers in kind.
As would the spectacle of their magic and attacks.
With Odin's massive black blade cutting devastating arcs of unfathomable destruction towards his opponent, Sleipnir's hooves crackling with thunderous lightning with each step he takes upon the open air, and Bahamut's searing beams of purging light ripping across the sky as he likewise soars its expanseβone might be hard pressed not to notice. Not to mention, for those more sensitive to magical energies, this is not unlike a hurricane of magic, dark and light energies swirling and clashing like a maelstrom without cease.
The wildlife in the area is also fleeing from the vicinity, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.
Should one wish to watch the spectacle from a safe distance, or try to interfere with these giants, that is ultimately up to them, but the two seem rather focused on one another. No obvious concern is given for the destruction their attacks cause their battlefield with its otherwise underdeveloped state; they might not notice those who attempt to approach them immediately.
Though, there also was a network post regarding the whole thing, but not everyone is going to notice that when there's quite literally a clash of titans happening in their backyard.
(ooc: There will be a thread where Odin and Bahamut are fighting which will work as a reference point for anyone who wishes to have a TL on here to watch/interact with others during this whole thing, but also for those who wish to try to get involved please feel free to specify such with your TL so Ren and I can interact with it as well. If you want to try to plot anything specific please feel free to hit me up (discord is zanono/
ZornSable)!
Basically this is just a big kaiju battle mingle of sorts! There were bound to be some slap fights eventually!)

There are other eikons then?
no subject
[There might be more, but he's never dealt with them. Secrets like Knights of the Round and Gilgamesh aren't known to the researchers who raised him, and thus not known to him either. But he knows the rest.]
The materia for these two ... are rather rare and very expensive. Only Bahamut Zero and Hades are rarer, I've never seen those even in simulation, only by research notes.
no subject
So summoners still need something to call for them. [The earth shakes slightly as the giants clash. Shadow gripping the branch as his eyes return to watching the eikons. That's one hell of an explosion, maybe even made a crater bigger than what that red demon bird could do before.]
no subject
This IS dangerous, but he's reasonably sure it'll be fine.]
Yes. Spheres of concentrated planet life energy. They allow us any number of useful abilities, certain ones allow us to contact those beings and allow them to fight for us on our own plane. The same fifteen, over centuries.. thousands of years, honestly. Maybe longer.
no subject
...Admittedly, he hopes it Dion who wins.]
I don't think they'll have any trouble proving their world is worth saving. [Or destroying it with that kind of power. Maybe that's why Aurora chose them, see if they should be allowed that kind of power.] These eikons, they all represent something? Like different elements? [He could see how the dragon favors light and the knight, shrouded in darkness.]
no subject
[But damn is it impressive to watch. It had to be reasonably safe, or surely the powers that be which control Etraya would have put a stop to it before now!]
..Oh, most, yes. Many have an element they specialize in controlling. Water, fire, electricity, wind and so on. Some rule over mind altering effects, others can warp bodies. But for the most part it's more straightforward. Glaciers, infernos, sudden gravity wells. It helps on figuring out their weaknesses in turn, fire gives way before water and lightning brings down water in turn, down the line. Bahamut is considered one of the most powerful because it has no weaknesses, as it has no pure element.
[A lot of this sounds like he's getting it from a textbook more than experience.]
no subject
...Well this Bahamut is using lot of moves that involve light. [Does that count as an element?] And then the knight. Odin, was it? They shroud themselves in darkness. [A battle between light and dark...]
no subject
[Many very powerful beings were in Etraya, it was a proving grounds of all sorts. Not the least of which is the kind like the fight going on. Maybe Shadow had something to prove too. Just like Sephiroth did.]
"Light" isn't an element, you turn on a flashlight or flip a light switch you're not shining an element onto things. Photons are just that, photons. Lasers are also not an element. It works in Bahamut's favor. Likewise, darkness isn't an element, it's just an absence of light, not a force unto itself.
[He has to watch the fight more than the hedgehog, as much as he might want to try to split his attention, one seems reasonably safe and the other could have lasers pointed at them right now.]
Odin traditionally wields wind. It doesn't look like it, never does, why would an invisible force be visible at all? But appearances can be deceptive, you can't rely on what it looks like when dealing with a Summon. Unless it's fire. Fire's always fire.
no subject
So their attacks are more of a concentration of energy, made into a form that can cause harm.
[Like how chaos energy isn't define into it's own element? How he can wield and shape it into what he likes. He shifts in the tree, moving to stand as the some of the projectiles gets dangerously close to where they're stationed.] This area may not be safe.
no subject
[Did he understand it exactly? No. Did he ever bother to try to find out more? ... Also no. Curiosity was only encouraged to a certain point under Professor Hojo's instruction. He didn't need to know how it worked, only how to deal with it.
They WERE warned it's not a safe area, and he's still weighing how close is 'too close'.]
....Mm. If they head much more in this direction I'll have to find another hill. Will you be alright?
no subject
I can get out of harm's way easily enough. What about yourself? [Sephiroth's appearance and how he carries himself made him seem like he had experience in battle. Then again, Shadow doesn't exactly have a great gauge of what humans/human-like beings are capable of. Very unimpressive against him.]
no subject
I should be able to. If not.. I'm designed to be much more resilient than I look, I should be alright.
[There's something deeply resentful about part of that, but he can't help what he was made to be. Just what he does with it.]
So I suppose there's naught to do but watch and be ready to move. I'm still expecting Bahamut to win, it has several advantages.
no subject
...Designed? [What did that mean? His ears twitch as there's a sound of a powerful impact strike between the two giants. The shockwave that could be felt from where they are.]
no subject
Mm. Science can do all kinds of things, these days.
[It's vague on purpose, and he winces at the shockwave, sensitive ears not keen on the pressure change. Carefully he works the HUD of the comm system's camera options for picture taking. Of all the things that NEED pictures, this is high on the list.]
The only limit is ambition and research grants. I don't recommend dealing with either if you can avoid it.
