(OPEN) TROLLEY REPAIR MINGLE?!
WHO: Anyone!
WHEN: Right after this post.
WHERE: Etrazim (Snake Island) and Farway, surrounding areas by the blue trolley line.
WHAT: Fixing the trolley car and tracks!
NOTES\WARNINGS: None so far, but users should write their CW warnings in their subject lines.
The blue trolley sits a short distance away from the train tracks, upright and derailed but at least not destroyed. The interior could use some help, and the exterior is covered in dings, and at least a few large dents in the outer shell, along with more scratches made by claws or talons. The worst problem is that itās for some reason, located on Snake Island, making it inaccessible unless someone decides to brave the dangers of thousands of deadly snakes.
The rails are in bad shape too, considering that whatever giant rocks were being thrown around (and for some reason, show no trace of remaining), theyāve left craters along the tracks, making the rails uneven, and in some places, outright splitting the metal in half so the track is useless without some proper welding.
And thereās Jayce, in a clean white shirt with orderly buttons, but his hair is not nicely done as it could be. Heās standing nearby the station, which also has suffered some damage, but not in a way that would stop a train from running if it was fixed, and so itās not a priority of his. He holds a little clipboard, a pen, and is writing down some notes when people begin to arrive.
āHey, thanks for offering to help with this. Thereās four tasks we need done.ā Jayce clicks the pen, and turns his clipboard over to show who heās speaking to the numbered list.
āOne, clear the rubble and debris. Anything that could get in the way of the trolley should be moved at least twenty meters away. Two, any craters and pits need to be filled, with dense materials. No sand, no loose dirt. Three, we need an inspection of the tracks, and in places where itās cracked, we need those to be cut out, reforged, welded back into place, and sanded until smooth. Finally, we need the trolley inspected, make sure the wheels arenāt dented, out of their alignment, or too loose, and then put back onto the tracks. Ideally, not on Snake Island. So someone who can āliftā it out of there, thatād be best. And if you feel like fixing the cushions or scratches, thatās fine, but not a priority. An ugly trolley car still moves.ā Jayce gives half a shrug, and takes back his clip board.
āI donāt care how you do it, as long as it doesnāt hurt anyone, or make things worse,ā and he gives a little ādo what you willā wave before he starts looking at the tracks that were split to assess how bad it is.
[OOC: I won't be tagging every thread, so feel free to post your own top levels and tag each other around!]

Silver the Hedgehog | OTA
The hedgehog followed the tracks and flew over to Snake Island once he got an idea of what needed to be done, spotting the trolley from the air. Without wasting any time and not even bothering to land on the ground, the hedgehog stretched out his hands and lifted the trolley with little visible effort; surrounding the boxy vehicle with the cyan aura of his powers and levitating it up several feet into the air. No bothering the snakes necessary. If there were pieces from the trolley or parts that fell off on the ground, he would pick all that up too.
He then proceeded to float back towards Farway station on the other side of the bridge humming contentedly to himself as the mass of metal and framework and bits of debris floated along behind him.
"Got the trolley!" He called, giving a thumbs up. "Where do you want me to put it?"
no subject
The pang of envy it also strikes in him is something he muffles and buries deep.Still, Silver delivered the most difficult part of the job with speed and competency, and Jayce is nothing but grateful in the end.
"Silver, I'm guessing?" As if the color of his fur didn't give it away. So this is what he meant by 'hedgehog.' It makes much more sense than his original concept of what Silver had meant when he identified himself as a hedgehog- it's much like talking a Yordle but with less... clothes... Just shoes and gloves... for some reason...
He's not going to get hung up on that though.
"Right here, about ten feet away from the tracks, and upside down. It'll be easier to inspect the wheels if it's not putting all it's weight on them."
no subject
"Yup! I'm Silver!" He confirmed. "Nice to meetcha in person! Jayce right?" He glanced over at the indicated spot where he could put down the trolley. "Right. You got it!" He proceeded to float the trolley over, and with a twisting motion of his hand, it flipped over in mid air so that he could land it upside down as instructed. He hovered above, spreading his hands and slowly lowering them so that the vehicle could gently settle to the ground. Once it was down, Silver then lowered the smaller pieces of debris that had fallen off the trolley and put them on the ground next to it.
"I put pieces that had fallen off the trolley next to it." He reported, lowering himself to the ground and landing next to Jayce. The cyan glow dissipated from around his body. He was roughly just shy of three and a half feet tall, but the quills rising from his head in a crested fan shape gave him some extra inches. "Whew! I can help out with anything else that needs to be done." He assured. "Once the trolley is ready to go back on the tracks I can lift it and flip it back around."
no subject
āThat would be great. Iāll inspect it nowā it could be in good enough condition we can get it on the rails today.ā Which is what he says, but heās still busy staring at Silver, and tapping his pen to his clipboard.
āā¦But before I do that. That level of control you have is amazing. Does it just come naturally, or do you have to plan ahead how much power you need to balance objects in the air? How does gravity come into play? Does air resistance have a factor at all?ā

He turned back to look up at Jayce at his questions, not minding them in the slightest. In fact, a considering expression flickered onto his face as he actually had to think on an answer. "I was born with these abilities." He admitted after a moment. "Or at least, I've had them for as long as I can remember. So a lot of the time it's something I don't really have to think a lot about. Though depending on what I want to do, it can require a lot of focus." He jerked a thumb back towards the trolley car.
"Something inanimate like that is super easy to lift and move. But if it's say...moving super fast there's a lot more force behind it. So I gotta put more focus into it if I'm gonna grab it and slow it down or bring it to a stop. I can imagine if there's really strong gales of wind going on at the same time, it would add some challenge. Now moving things that are living, that's a bit different because they can move or fight back so I have to constantly adjust how much force I'm using." A small smile flickered on his face.
"I mean...if you want...I can show you." He pointed to the trolley. "I can lift you up so you can inspect the wheels. It doesn't hurt, I promise." He was only rough against enemies in combat situations.

Izuku "Deku" Midoriya | OTA | anime spoilers
"I'll see what debris qualifies as dense enough to fill the craters. Looks like someone's already taking care of airlifting the trolley."
He leaves Jayce to eyeing the tracks with a blacksmith's eye and marches over to where the most debris is scattered. It becomes clear that walking in snake territory isn't ideal, so he uses Float to hover out of their reach and Blackwhip's tendrils shooting out of his hands to tug himself along like a humanoid jellyfish.
The real advantage of Blackwhip is providing several hands instead of just two. With a careful but swift application of Blackwhip and super strength, Izuku is grabbing several large pieces of concrete and depositing them into some of the craters.
"Oh--hi there! Watch out for snakes! Need a ride?"

He has quite an external monologue going on. What idiot got into a fight on the trolley, on Snake Island of all places, with that stupid bird of all things, and so on. He interrupts himself with the occasional nervous yelp and jump as he avoids stepping on the myriad of snakes lazing about, and again when Izuku addresses him.
"With those creepy shadow arms? No thanks!"
He's thinking about the trolley and snakes and the prospect of that menacing bird coming out to disturb the repairs, even if he were not kind of rude by nature he would be very distracted from the concepts of tact and manners right now.
no subject
It's not the first time someone's called Blackwhip creepy. Sero gives him plenty of crap about that. It's just how his Quirk is... apparently. It had been just as much of a surprise to Izuku as anyone else when it burst out of him during that training exercise.
"But... you're barely avoiding the snakes..." is Izuku's argument. He's a kindhearted soul, but he's not above muttering a callout.

Popp huffs indignantly and scoops up a two-foot long striped snake, which hisses at him. There's a certain similarity in attitudes between Popp and the snake.

Hello, Jayce. I'm Sophie, we spoke online.

[Not that anyone who volunteered to help didn't show up, but she seemed the most reluctant to.]
As you can see, you've got your work cut out for you.

Ok. She can deal. She's been dealing. At least he's got non-humans in his world, so it won't be as much of a headache. Seems like his world's issue is state politics, anyway.)

Shigeru Miyata | Original Character | OTA
[ So for anyone wondering what a scrawny looking guy like Shigeru is doing here, well...if you watch him from a distance or even close by, you'll see firsthand that he's not exactly normal. Aside from the undulating tentacles that he's using to pick up debris and things with, said tentacles will actually disintegrate whatever they're wrapped around, like it's nothing?? They also might have red eyes along with them, but please don't pay attention to those!! When it comes to fixing the tracks, Shigeru will be on his knees, black gloved hands hovering over the broken and bent pieces of metal. Again, he'll just remake the track by literally reforming the missing pieces from the already existing pieces still intact. He might wipe at his brow with his sleeve as he sits back and sighs. ] This is a lot harder than I thought it would be! But it's coming together pretty good...
[ He is talking to himself as he mumbles that, but also his tentacles are just squirming about around him. Nothing to see here! ]
Refreshments/Healing;
[ No good deed goes unpunished so if you somehow manage to get hurt during the clean-up process, Shigeru has a little table off to the side of where the efforts are taking place, stocked with some beverages, snacks like protein bars and things, and some first-aid materials just in case. When he's not helping remake and rebuild things, he'll be here to wave anyone over with a smile. ] It's not good to work on an empty stomach, so please have something to eat and-and drink! It's not much, but...but it should help!
clean up
it may be a little intimidating seeing a 3'3" hedgehog staring menacingly, but he always looks like that, no worries, shigeru! this resting bitch face is a staple to black and red hedgehog kind. ]
Shadow | Sonic the Hedgehog (Film)
a/wildcard
he turns his head to see the other moving along the line, when he's close enough, the older hedgehog will move his gaze to the pile of steel he's brought...
... where did that pile come from? some may wonder. ]
no subject
His attention returns to the other once finished. Their gaze was on something else. A pile of steel that wasn't there the last time he walked through here. He can put the two together how they got there with the other standing by them.]
Do you know how to fix the tracks?
no subject
[ his ass is not helping. which means, he could, but he doesn't see what he's needed for as he wants to check other things. bringing what they need for certain jobs seems helpful enough, but really, shadow didn't come here to solely focus on the tracks. ]
...
[ as he glances at the tracks, from what he sees, it'll take nailing them back down, and making sure that the trolley is able to fit on them without going off. ]

Amy Rose | OTA
And it is pretty impressive; despite her small size, Amy was able to lift quite large pieces of debris, as well as move heavy materials needed for filling the pits.
Pushing aside more large chunks of rubble, Amy breathes out a sigh and wipes sweat from her forehead before glancing at the nearest person.
"How're you doing? You okay?"
no subject
He drops his load and looks over at the pink creature when she speaks up; stares at her in silence for a second; then gives her a thumbs up in lieu of a proper answer. (He doesn't appear to have broken a sweat at all though, despite also lifting quite large chunks of rubble.)
"You seem pretty strong. Are you a fighter?"
Sorry for the late reply! It's been a rough month
"Sort of? I mean, I've gotten into some fights, but that just kind of happens sometimes when you go on adventures."
same here, don't worry!
He glances over at the messed-up trolley rails for a moment. "Maybe that's what happened here."

Cid Telamon | OTA
Alright, alright. Letās get this thing working again.
[Cid surveys the trolley car, noting damage, picking things apart. He starts prying things off and making little piles of damaged bits.]
Itās really not so bad, right? So long as you mind your step, we could probably put it back on the tracks right now. A couple boards cross the bottom would probably be a good ideaā¦

[Is he getting this right?]
